This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Brave Halfling already beat them to the punch with the release of the boxed Swords & Wizardry White Box Edition rules.

See here in the news for the S&W White Box boxed sets, available now from Brave Halfling.
Can't wait to get my hands on this. I ordered it. :)

Attention, though. There are basically two versions of S&W. One is called the "Core rules", which is in fact built from OD&D using selected elements from Supplement I - Greyhawk and others, like for instance the polyhedral dice for weapon damage, that kind of thing. The other version, called "White Box", is based purely on the OD&D rules sans supplements, and thus uses all d6 for weapon damage, for instance.

This is the latter, White Box version, that is included in the boxed set.

Ok, I found something that might fit your bill : Dark Dungeons. It's not yet finished, but it's a Cyclopedia retro-clone. Your can download the latest incarnation by following the link above.

"Dark Dungeons"?  Seriously?

EDIT: Oh, I see now.  Intentional.

Huh.  Haven't seen anything quite like this so far.  And it's not a bad thing.  I haven't read every word, but I gave it a good browse (with a careful eye towards mechanics, mostly).

For starters, for me, this isn't what I was looking for / daydreaming about.  While this is certainly true to the spirit of the Rules Cyclopedia, it is surely not a conversion of the Cyclopedia to d20.  That's clear just looking at things like Thief Skill resolution, attribute checks, etc.

I'll say this though: The author seems to have seriously undertaken an attempt to make a retro-clone of the Cyclopedia here.  I noticed some (arguable) streamlining of the attack table and an effort to scale demihuman progression to match human classes.  Things like that.  For me, I don't see anything here that would replace using the D&D Rules Cyclopedia but I'm glad to see someone taking the ambitious charge of remaking the whole book in their vision.  I'll be keeping an eye on its progress.  Thanks for brining it to attention.

Yeah see, to me, this sort of thing is just useless. What the fuck is the point of it in place of Rules Cyclopedia?

That was my primary reaction when I read it.  Still is, but tempered with a bit of reflection I reached a few conclusions:

1) If a group doesn't own the Rules Cyclopedia (which is prohibitively expensive now on ebay, seems), this is cool.

2) When fully realized, this product might develop a community or fanbase that supports the game.  Always a + in my book.

3) There are a few alterations, a vision of the author, that sets it apart from RC (cursory glance revealed demihumans allowed to level to max, there may be more).  That can't really be a bad thing...

But, yeah, I wouldn't pay money for this if I owned the RC (which I do).  And, still, it doesn't satisfy my query: Is there a d20 conversion of the RC?

Go here and download yahoo_m3e.zip - that's the last compiled amount of work I ever seen for the Mystara d20 conversion.

Seriously, Mystara fans have a lot of catching up to do with Dark Sun and Planescape fans.

Fascinating.  Thank you.
