Title: Scenario based on these Pictures
Post by: HinterWelt on October 04, 2008, 04:29:21 PM
So, we got back from a little camping vacation to Shawnee National Park, specifically Giant City, in southern IL. So, based on the following pictures, come up with a short scenario description. Any genre, any location.

Werewolf, the Forsaken:
Those damn kids have been making incursions into your Pack's territory for far too long now, trashing the area, painting on the rock walls, and causing ripples on the spirit side (there is a locus nearby, so their wanton trashing of such a serene place has a greater effect on the "other side").  A council meeting has been called to discuss ways to deal with the issue.  Since this area is technically off limits to the public, dealing with them could be as simple as having the local park ranger (with whom your Pack has a working relationship) intervene.   You and your fellow Garou have been asked to deal with the issue as soon as possible.  However, the next night that you expect the punks to party on your turf (the next Friday), you and your packmates show up to find seven kids butchered (5 girls, 2 guys).
Now, you are in a pickle.  Do you clean the scene and hope the authorities (with whom you do NOT have a good relationship) don't get involved?  Do you figure out who killed these punks on your territory?  Surely the Spirit side would hold some answers (or would it?).
You've probably got 24 hours before their mothers and fathers start calling the cops.  What do you do?

You and your Band of Scions have been sent to recruit Native American Scions for the war in the Overworld.  The first picture is seen when the players actually discover a place where they can detect those Scions have been.  Second, is a staircase that leads straight into the "Happy Hunting Ground" at certain times of the year.  Thirdly, a picture of the graffiti that is a symptom of how humanity has turned away from the Native American Scions, for the most part.  Good Luck!  ((lots of sentient animals, perhaps))

The pictures are makin' me think about using kick-ass warrior elves to recreate the general sense of the Battle of Thermopylae.

Maybe the message in the third picture hasn't been half-erased, it's half-formed. It could be instructions for a destructive spell, or a Lovecraftian Truth That Drives Men Mad, that's started appearing everywhere.

It's a secluded spot where Time Agents leap from one timeline to another (they need areas where they won't be spotted and where they can avoid unintentionally altering the timeline). They use the rock walls to leave each other messages.

Unfortunately, the terrible Doctor Zo has succeeded in his plan to initiate a Galatron Paradox Cascade. He tricked two Time Agents into meeting themselves and now every timeline they altered is coming undone. Time and the timeline is in a state of flux.

But because the little canyon was used so often by Time Agents, it has absorbed enough Temporal Energy to become a hard point and it's importance to Agents has increased several fold.

But will this small advantage be enough to stop Doctor Zo? Tune in and find out!

The Will Corrie Project
It doesn't matter how much rope they pack. It doesn't matter how much of a bastard their swords are. Tinder boxes won't help them. They have to go through the Shawnee National Park and the last person who went in went native.

Will they survive or become part of the Will Corrie project?

My first reaction was 'Oooh...Oooh! Can I help define what the Will Corrie Project actually is?"

Which is my of saying "Nice."

It's not the first time "Alex" showed up carved in stone. In every case, something bad has fallen upon the small town of Hertzburg. But now it's shown up along the one path that the townsfolk use to traverse the Shaw Knee forest to trade with the outside world.

It's not known who, or perhaps what, "Alex" is, but the town will not survive if this route is not safe.

In the Martian lowlands, even empty canals have a use. Water still moves along the porous rocks that line the preternaturally straight channels dug by the old martians. Near the cities these are used for agriculture, pricnipally vines but out in the deep desert, hidden from the winds and sands they give a home to the the few wild trees and mosses. Small animals lurk, their entire lives played out in this little kingdom.  For a weary Englishmen, these havens provide a brief reminder of home, with their green leaves and gentle climes. And yet they also offer something more - insight and understanding.

It was here that Mr Darwin found the evidence for this theory, upon seeing how these isolated gardens provide refuge for species that have since developed their own variations yet remain within a few miles of each other, seperated by the sands. And here to we can see one of the draws for scientists beyond the natural curiosities. Protected by isolation and perhaps even design, it is these canals that contain fragments of original martian inscriptions that have long since been defaced and removed in the more habitable areas. The true treasures of Mars, knowledge, lie waiting for those who would brave the cruel sands that lie but feet away.

The Cor Zinth elves love nature and the wild. Not so much because they like to protect it, but because it provides such good ambush points.

They're also cannibals. :D

The writing on the walls is what's for dinner.
