This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

[Historical Gaming] I need a Patsy!

Ha!

Having now done the barest amount of research into the "glorious Revolution", I have three candidates. All three are members of the "immortal seven", who invited William of Orange to invade the country:

Lord Lumley (my first pick as an ode to Brian Lumley the horror fiction writer)
The Earl of Devonshire (because I need a plan B)
The Bishop of London, Henry Compton (because it never hurts to get the church involved)

Right now, I'm thinking Lord Lumley is the main instigator with the Bishop of London as more distant support. I think it would strain belief to have more than one of these guys directly involved in the plot.

In the meantime, anyone know a quick and easy way to track the names of the members of English Parlament in late 1689? Records for the House of Lords lists them by title but not name.
