This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

RPGPundit's "Currently Smoking: Canada" Tour: Edmonton Gaming Stores?

Yes, Edmonton is my old hometown.  And that means I'm familiar with its two biggest gaming stores: WARP 1, and Whyte Knight.  Problem is that while those two have a great selection, their service (and prices) are utter crap.

I recall about a year ago, Levi had mentioned to me that there were some other gaming stores in town.  Problem is, WARP 1 usually does a good job of wiping out the competition (or they wipe themselves out, because frankly one of the reasons most gaming stores fail is because most of the people who say "Hey, let's start up a gaming store" are utter failures at business).

So do any of these places still exist? Where are they?

Nope, sadly.  Like mayflies.

We seem to be back to WARP, Whyte Knight, and comic stores with a few shelves or RPG stuff.

I pretty well expected that. Pity, really.
