SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Yes. Some topics garner too much reflexively negative attention at this site, and become too toxic to be worth bothering with.

I suffer severe ocular trauma from eye-rolling every time I log on.

"Some Topics" ?

You mean like the "Forge" / GNS?

 And storygames shit?

 Well yeah - of course.

That only makes sense when you consider that a majority of the posters on here seem to like some version of a Traditional Role Playing game - even if it isn't the same same game or set of games.

For example: Not everyone on here is a huge fan of Dungeons & Dragons, for a few of us our Traditional RPG that we learned on as players was classic TRAVELLER or something like it. For others it might be "Champions"/HERO system or maybe Call of Cthulu.

Yet all of you have postcounts that can hardly be called casual. So, you're not that hampered, are you?

20 per month is about 1/6 my posting rate elsewhere. But the tone here is not the sole reason for that, I expect.

The tone here is fine. Pundit's tendency to "make a show" of not banning people, when they aren't doing anything which is against forum rules, is harmful, though.

That may be a valid argument, that certain topics are bound to create so many flames that they may not feel worth bringing up to you. But that's very different from saying that certain topics make you fear being banned for bringing them up.

Yeah, that's a bit of a wank, plus it's actually threatening. It's like waving a baseball bat at someone and boasting of how nice you are for not hitting them with it.

Might I then suggest RPG.net. I hear they go to great pains to foster a "culture" of civility. It might be more friendly to your apparently delicate sensibilities.

Also, the question was actually does RPGPundit's "running around foaming at the mouth and making threats" hamper your freedom of speech? Your delicate sensibilities about being disagreed with in a less than warm and fuzzy manner are not actually the issue.

By RPGPundit "running around foaming at the mouth and making threats"?

Perhaps I was just asking for it posting a question like that, but honestly, if ya'all really don't like it here then why the fuck do you read and post here at all? The few times I've poked around RPG.net I've thrown up in my mouth a little it's so fucked up (IMO obviously), so I almost never read posts there, and I never post myself. It's really simple. I mean... fuck.

I certainly don't see it. Rattling the sabre might annoy some folks, but actually do harm? In what way?
