This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Actually as a month ago they were still banning "furries".

So there ARE limits to their degeneracy. I wonder who drew that particular line. Kek, can you imagine being part of the Meeting of the Minds on that?

Degen 1: So we're OK with everything trans, everything homo, everything communist/marxist/maoist. Right?
Degen 2: Yes. Also pedo, er, I mean MAPs are OK.
Degen 1: Yep, got it.
Degen 3: Furries?
Degen 1 & 2: GTFO you sick fuck.

Ironically, furry culture goes back to Albedo Anthropomorphics and contributed a great deal to tabletop gaming.

Same with DriveThruRPG: On my own terms.  I raised my prices 100x, then said, "Get 99% off when you buy from Big Geek Emporium".  Because it was only a matter of time I would be banned for posting material using "unacceptable" language.

I didn't know about that website. Thanks.

I'm probably going to regret asking, but what's the issue with DriveThru? I don't really keep up on all the goings-on in the hobby, unless it pops up in my feed on youtube.

They caved to the idealogues and bigots a couple years back when they banned a product (an adventure? I can't recall) that was pro-life due to the leftist mob complaining yet had multiple products that were pro-abortion.   I don't know if there was more than that before or after but that's the one I remember making the news.   Either don't allow products to reference a contentious issue or allow them to.. but don't choose a "winner" in the debate by only allowing one side on a supposedly neutral market place.

There are all kinds of issues with bans of material that is opposed to woke values, but, and I mentioned this before, like your typical left-wing fascists, (RPG NET, BGG, etc.), Drive Thru
 ignore violations if it's left enough, and lucrative for them.  They never removed COMRADES, although they received multiple reports that the game promoted real life violence in the printed book/PDF, and on its crowdfunding site.  The author has a disclaimer that Comrades does not promote real-life violence, but it's a lie to protect him.

Yeah, I had actually meant to highlight that topic too, but just forgot about it.  Maybe they want to model their fantasy societies on the Roman Republic or the Republic of Venice.  We know what shining beacons of justice they were....
I know how the illegals feel. I'm an alcoholic & they keep setting up these random DUI checkpoints. You have no idea what a chilling effect this has had on the alcoholic community. I know people who are too terrified to even drink & drive anymore. I am literally shaking... mostly in my hands...

Mon = one
Arch = ruler

Do they even understand who Stalin was?

Seriously... the biggest fantasy of all, even more than WotC's gay gnome kings and wheelchair bound adventurers, is premodern society past about the band-level of organization functioning without something like monarchs (ie. the tribal chief is a monarch... though perhaps not an absolute one).

There's insanity, and then there's that. Wow.

Don't tell that to Steve Gallacci. You'd be likely to get a broken nose. The man reportedly HATES furries.

That's the thing though-- it started off relatively normal yet Albedo is largely considered the beginning of furry culture. Odd to sell rights to Sanguine Productions if he really didn't want to be associated with furries. As two side notes, I've actually met Donna Barr and she's a super nice lady (though I could never get into the human-horse thing) and Albedo pioneered the way for the Standard Galactic Alphabet, used in the Commander Keen series and Minecraft. This was a significant part of gaming history no matter how you look at it.

This may be a shock, but there was a comic book series that came first before it got a game labeled as the start of furry culture, a lot like Dungeons & Dragons was a great RPG before it got turned into woke Wasteland by a bunch of retards who thought that they would be owning the chuds by deconstructing a damn good system. Now before you post some more internet hot takes, give Erma Felna EDF a read - you'd be hard pressed to find any furry perversion there.

Interesting. There was indeed roughly a five year gap between EDF and the tabletop RPG (1983-1988).

I worked with Gallacci before Sanguine found out and yanked the agreement out from under me. Then proceeded to completely botch their Albedo RPG.

Nice guy. Quiet. But had a sense of humor that came out in some of his works. But much like Peter Cushing he took the death of his wife pretty hard.

Bemusingly at Gen Con I'd find him in a booth next to White Wolf's selling silver bullets.
