This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Oh Good Lord. I forgot about this guy too. Of course! It's on my wish list too!

Quote from: The Butcher;383643Mongoose Runequest 2. I've been meaning to try Runequest forever (virtually unheard of around these parts), and now's as good a time as any. Since my tastes for fantasy run towards the epic, I'm waiting to see how the new Runequest Empires book turns out. The Elric and Hawkmoon books are also of interest.
I haven't read the Combat and Magic(s) chapters yet, so there's still a big caveat, but what I've read so far (character gen, skills, basic game system procedures) I really like. I'm confident you're going to like it too.

Quote from: Silverlion;383579Generally I'm waiting on being able to get print versions of:

Bill Coffins' Septimus

There are probably others but for now that is all.

Not sure when there will be a print copy of Septimus but you can get the .pdf free now:

I'd like to get ANY new product for exlipse phase as it would mean the game was still alive and handn't been killed by what happened at catalyst.

I mean, cthulhutech can go to hell, but I hope Eclipse phase survives and prospers.

There is already a POD softcover.

KillingMachine

The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is Advanced HackMaster. Not sure when it's supposed to be released, but I'm interested in checking it out when it pops up.

I'm kinda down on buying new stuff lately, but Warriors of the Red Planet and the Planet Algol book look like they'll be cool.

Mongoose RuneQuest 2 was in my wish list, but not anymore! I got it for my birthday :). I haven't read it thoroughly yet, but I'm liking what I see, I might even end up liking it more than RuneQuest 3, which is my first love.

Other than that, maybe the Song of Ice and Fire Campaign Guide, or Aquelarre 3rd edition, when they're finally released.

What are they?

In answer to the main question, nothing much for me, I'm on a selling rather than buying kick presently.  I'll likely even be selling some books I like on the basis I have them in pdf and generally that works fine for me (I have access to free printing, so I print as needed and dump after the game - next time we play I can print again).

Fly From Evil I'd buy in a heartbeat, but it won't be out anytime soon.  I'd love a rules light Flash Gordony game, but there's none on the horizon (I have Slipstream, but I'd like something more streamlined, that OD&D supplement isn't bad at all but it's not quite on point).
I roll to disbelieve.

Warriors of the Red Planet is basically an OD&D type hack of Barsoom, Planet Algol is one dude's completely gonzo campaign world and his blog friggin' rocks.

It does look good, though I have a hard time persuading myself that it's OK to have yet another RPG (let alone a fantasy one) sitting on the shelf. :o

Given that we've had some discussion on my system preferences, I trust your opinion, and I hope we'll get to hear your feedback on the Combat and Magic chapters. Maybe a full-fledged review? :D

I found Warriors through the power of Google.  Looks cool.

I clicked on the Planet Algol link.  First thing up is a location called the Jagged Gut Slicer Gin House.  I am so into that already.

Plus, albino bird men!  Man, sometimes I just plain love this hobby.

Edit:  You seen that SF supplement for OD&D one blogger did?  Very nicely done.
I roll to disbelieve.
