Lately someone on the internets mentioned the "Traveller" album by "The Lord Weird Slough Feg" (yes, a heavy metal album about the Traveller game/universe), and I was wondering whether there are any other songs inspired by RPGs or their respective universes...

And please, no comedy songs about D&D or tiny local bands...

Trivia: at least one The Lord Weird Slugh Feg album cover carries some awesome Erol Otus art.

Well there's a horde of rock bands playing about fantasy material, sometimes even about established novels. Moorcock himself wrote songs for Hawkwind and Blue Öyster Cult. But songs about RPGs are not as common...

(Blind Guardian wrote a song about Dragonlance. That only counts half ;) )

(And yes, there's an Elric RPG and there's a Conan RPG. They still don't count. Don't be a dick)

There's a Finnish Tolkien-inspired band called Battlelore, originally from my home town... As it happens, I've LARPed with some of these folks.
Previously known by the name of "GrimGent".

I'm sure Manowar is responsible for most fantasy games, though they have not yet acknowledged their existance (to my knowledge.)

Mirdautas Vras is written in the "black language of Mordor".

And this is the best metal album of 2006. I'm not kidding. It kicks ass.
