This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: WarthurThe Great Pendragon Campaign, with Stafford running. A|State with Malcolm Craig. Unknown Armies or REIGN with Greg Stolze. Ars Magica with John Tweet. Dying Earth with Robin Laws. Aces and Eights with the dudes from Kenzer & Co. Those are the ones which jump out at me right now.

Warthur took mine.

Dude, you don't live in Alberta do you?

Gunslinger

Burning Wheel with Luke Crane.  I'd love to play to get over insecurities about running it.

Rifts with Kevin Siembeda.  I'd love to see how it all makes sense to him.

Quote from: RoninCyberpunk 2020 w/ Mike Pondsmith (Or what ever the hell the new one is called. I dont like some of his new ideas. And again I think I would hear thats not how its supposed to be played. To say all this pains me. CP2020, was one of my absolute fovorites back in the day)
In case anyone misread: I meant of course the 2020 edition from the early 90s itself, not the Waterworld+Pokemon thingy that belongs as much to the CP game line as Zelda II belongs to the Zelda game line.

When I write "TDE", I mean "The Dark Eye". Wanna know more? Way more?

I think that one's just called Cyberpunk v3.  Or, you know, "Barbiepunk".
Now Prepping: One-shot adventures for Coriolis, RuneQuest (classic), Numenera, 7th Sea 2nd edition, and Adventures in Middle-Earth.

Recently Ended: Palladium Fantasy - Warlords of the Wastelands: A fantasy campaign beginning in the Baalgor Wastelands, where characters emerge from the oppressive kingdom of the giants. Read about it here.

Skyrock

I prefer Waterworld+Pokemon thingus. It's a better fitting description.

Quote from: droogHeroQuest Glorantha with Greg Stafford, because it's his world and he ought to be good at it.
Yeah, but he might change the details of the campaign after you've started playing. :p

I'm not sure I can think of any that haven't already been posited:

HeroQuest, but with Robin Laws running it.
Pendragon with Greg Stafford.
Nobilis with Rebecca Borgstrom.
RuneQuest or Call of Cthulhu with Sandy Petersen.
Not sure if I'd really be comfortable playing a Delta Green campaign under any of the Pagan Pub folks, but it seems so right.
Everway with Jonathan Tweet.

!i!

Just to clarify as for my self as well. I dont care for what has become of CP2020. This new 3v.
Secondly from what I understand Mike Pondsmiths stance was it shouldnt be all about hardware and stuff. And he didnt like the combat monsters easily created by players. His advise was just to throw insanely powerful people at the PC's to deal with it. Isnt that pretty much doing the same thing? Besides your the one that gave us books full of big guns, cyberware, and full conversions. Full Conversion Cyborgs with (iirc) 10gauge machine guns. Talking about in the fluff text for said shotgun/MG turning a shopping mall into a red mist.
Vive la mort, vive la guerre, vive le sacré mercenaire

Gotta agree with Dying Earth, Robin Laws. That game and its supplements are so fun to read, but while I've got a handle on the mechanics, getting from there to the type of play the books talk about has escaped me so far.

So I wouldn't want to copy what he does, so much as see how the pieces fit together in play.

Marco

I already have played Star Cluster with Clash. And ... I liked the meta-skills. Humm ...

I think I'm good.

However, I'd also jump at a chance to play Sorcerer with Ron and DitV with Vincent. I'd like to play Nobilis with Rebecca and FtA with the pundit.

Finally, if I had the time (which, alas, I don't): Runebearer with Chris and AoH with Brian.

JAGS Wonderland, a lavishly illlustrated modern-day horror world book informed by the works of Lewis Carroll. Order it Print-on-demand or get the PDF here free.

Just Released: JAGS Revised Archetypes . Updated, improved, consolidated. Free. Get it here.

alexandro

Artesia with John Smyiliey (sp?)
Fading Suns with Bill Bridges
Changeling with Nicki Rea or Jackie Cassada.
Feng Shui with Robin Laws (also Heroquest and Dying Earth, except- of course- if Greg Stafford or Jack Vance GM (yeah, the latter is pretty unlikely, but a man can dream :D )).
Engel with Oliver Hoffmann (listened to a session for a while at a con and it sounded like a load of fun)
Why do they call them "Random encounter tables" when there's nothing random about them? It's just the same stupid monsters over and over. You want random? Fine, make it really random. A hampstersaurus. A mucus salesman. A toenail golem. A troupe of fornicating clowns. David Hasselhoff. If your players don't start crying the moment you pick up the percent die, you're just babying them.

Lord Hobie

I would kill to play in Aaron Allston's Strike Force campaign for Champions.

The only reason "JAGS with Marco" isn't on my list is because I've done that too - one game of which was an early prototype of Wonderland - and I recommend it to anyone!

Nope. Other side of the Atlantic.
I am no longer posting here or reading this forum because Pundit has regularly claimed credit for keeping this community active. I am sick of his bullshit for reasons I explain here and I don\'t want to contribute to anything he considers to be a personal success on his part.

I recommend The RPG Pub as a friendly place where RPGs can be discussed and where the guiding principles of moderation are "be kind to each other" and "no politics". It\'s pretty chill so far.

Melinglor

Sorceror with Ron Edwards to see how he runs it and makes it sing.

Over the Edge with Jonathan Tweet for the same reason.

D&D with Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson, separately, to compare the two.

What I would NEVER play with the Author: Anything Palladium with Kevin Siembada. Guy's an asshat with some unfun play philosophies.

Peace,
-Joel

Quote from: flyingmiceY'know, guys, I DO run games over IRC. Been doing it for years. We could do that any time.

Did I miss the sign up thread for this somewhere?
