This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Grew up in Palatine; had a business, for 10 years, in Lake Zurich...

Bill - you're never too far south.  There's always a central location and if we get a few more folks from up this way, we can always car pool...

Cause I'd car pool to play in Roma, or try Neb, or CoS, or something...

Do I sound desperate?

Dude, I am so jonesing for a game at this point...man. I just wish there was a shop or location somewhere mid distance. Games Plus is just a bit of a drive for me. Something like Lock Port, Naperville or whatever is a bit north of Naperville. I am trying to convince Linda that moving north would be good but she likes New Lenox. Plus side there is the new 355 extension should be done shortly and would make going north (or coming south) much easier.

But yeah, I would drive to try out some games or run a few. I still think i could hook you on Shades of Earth. ;)

When you look around you have to wonder,
Do you play to win or are you just a bad loser?

That's a very generous offer Keith.

I'll note to those who've asked about it, there's a review of Conspiracy of Shadows written by yours truly here.

The summary is that I thought it was a neat game with some neat concepts that also had some bad Forge-elements tacked on.

Naperville? Lockport?

Holy crap..... I was born in DuPage County Hospital.  My Dad grew up in and around the areas you mention. Reading your post is like listening my folks and relatives chit chat about the old neighborhoods.  Heck my grandfather was a guard at Joliet State Prison back in the 1920s. (or was it early 30s?)
