This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Orbaal works just fine & dandy too, it's just i picked up the fancy Ivinia map to hang on the way, and you're doubtless correct they overdid they fjords.
I have no regrets buying Ivania or putting in a fancy frame on my wall. It is a beautiful map, just not great for planning your Dragonships course to the sea. And the text on Ivanian culture is just gravy.

C&C Codex Nordica is particularly excellent. Codex Germania is Viking-adjacent and well worth getting also.

I agree the various Viking treatments in Runequest are outstanding, from the original Vikings box set by Avalon Hill to the Runequest II Vikings book.

Ars Magica had a really good Viking related book called Land of Fire and Ice (basically Iceland) and it has an awesome cover. I mean a really really great cover. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/348442/Land-of-Fire-and-Ice

Also for Ars Magica is Mythic Seas.

I am working on a Valkyrie book for my OSR line that is coming along well.

Thanks folks for all the great suggestions. I am sure we'll find something that suits our fancy. Top picks so far seem to be: Vikings D&D 2E, Viking Runequest, and Fate of the Norns. The C&C book is intriguing though. For the others, the group is sorta lukewarm on, but for sure, Shield Maidens is a hard pass...
