This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: bconsidine;1038500Sorry. Been playing catch up.

They haven't. We're here. Might not be "sanctioned", but I've followed the advice and made it mine.

Welcome back!

And thank you for your post - it's one of the better bits of news I've had in gaming in a while. I mean, it was Phil's advice in the first place, and which I have taken to heart for all these years. He left us one heck of a nice present... :)

[So; did my verbose meanderings send you into a coma...? :) Just curious; I'm always interested in what people think of our antics around the Ping-pong table...]

After Vietnam, men stopped wearing hats (as worn by adults) and started wearing baseball caps (previously worn only by children and baseball players). I have a theory about maturity levels as well. :-)

Thanks. Been lurking on my phone, which is both convenient and vexing, as I'm a ham-fisted typist. And, no, not comatose--life has temporarily gotten in the way and I haven't made much headway recently. Am into book 2.

Ah! I started wearing baseball-style caps in the late 1970s, as I got a large supply of them at Ft. Knox. I still have my 'formal' hats, to go with my formal long leather coat (as seen on "Allo, Allo"), so make of that what you will.

Understood; I'm just happy that I didn't bore you into a coma... :)

Let's have some fun, this morning:

I'm sure somebody will be offended. About something. Which seems to be the most important thing in gaming, these days. And sorry, but I'm not getting into those discussions.

Gronan of Simmerya

That first one looks like a very accurate recreation of a medieval tournament.
You should go to GaryCon.  Period.

The rules can\'t cure stupid, and the rules can\'t cure asshole.

It does, doesn't it? I especially liked the melees, where you had two groups piling in on each other. All good fun, I think. :)

Hear, hear! My Missus approves this message, too. :)

Which is actually a feature of our games out at Phil's; Vrisa would kill anything that threated us, and I'd cook the meals and do the dishes. Why? "He's a master of logistics, that's why." - The Highborn Lady Vrisa Vishetru

Oh, Vimuhla's hells, yes.  It's why putting Chirine front and center at 3rd Mar was such an exception for me.

Good fighters are a khaitar a dozen; an aide-de-camp who knows his way around a supply chain is worth his weight in steel.

Exceptional situations - no, desperate situations - call for desperate measures. Third Mar was about as close to the end of the campaign as we ever got, as Phil was out for blood - and a good scene in "Flamesong". The Glorious General pulled it out in Phil's teeth, and we survived. Heck of a fight, and a really great game session.

Yes it was, and it all pivoted on those fateful words... "Chirine, does that look like Mar to you off on the horizon?"
