I read your blog entry from 2015, but I was hoping for more details. Yes, I have the pdf and am considering pulling the trigger for the hard copy.
How good is their magic system? How medieval do you think it is? You are by far a much more read scholar on the topic than I could hope to be. You have your own medieval setting and rpg, so.....I figured I better ask you.

I own it. It's gorgeous and seems very accurate - the way a fantastic late-Medieval Spain would have thought about the world. It seems kind of crunchy but it'm not sure.
So far I've caught that it's a BRP spin, which I like, but with more weapons and very Spanish names for some of the newer weapons. I've run fantasy games using BRP for years, but the magic has always felt hollow. It's boring, but I wanted to get a better idea of Aquelarre's spells. I have yet to start reading that section, but it appears to be about a hundred pages long.
