Can't tell if this "Pundit" character class (http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/234745/Hybrid-Class-Pundit?affiliate_id=319435) is a dig at you-know-who, or if it's serious. Any thoughts?
I'm not 100% certain sure looks like a dig at Pundit imo.
A dig at Pundit or pundits though? Let's be clear, Pundy chose a name that includes a role (being a pundit) that's not exactly 100% well-regarded.
Looks like these are Pathfinder OGL supplements. My gut instinct is that most Pathfinder players have absolutely no idea who he is, but I don't exactly have my fingers on the pulse of that section of the industry (and the company as a whole seems to make PF, LL, and DCC product, which... I guess I don't know).
If it is a dig at him, it seems a lot of effort with little payoff. So unless it is an in-joke for the creator (much like the creators of Shrek made Lord Farquaad a subtle dig at Disney CEO Michael Eisner, but it went over 99% of the audiences heads), I'm going to guess no.
Looks like Cicero on a huge-ass lion to me. Most role-players don't know what a pundit even is. 20+ pages to describe a character stat block? Might be worth the $3.
I think if it were just about RPGPundit, it would have some more specific digs.
I see some little slices of the description that could be entertaining in play.
I mainly see this as a hyperbolic example of what I dislike about character classes, and especially about weird specific character classes: contrived "not really a thing" cliches specified with strange specificity and given a laundry list of gamey powers and restrictions that over-describe what in real people is at most a profession or an activity or a skill or in this case, a behavior pattern and/or ego-identity.
If it were about him, the class would have a lot of powers of self-promotion
But basically they have a whole line of 'hybrid" classes, taking two parent classes and coming up with a class that combines the two. I guess to them, a wizard/cavalier hybrid would be a "pundit".
I would be so proud if someone went to the effort of producing 20 pages of something taking the piss out of me.
I can't tell. Also the name of the publisher sounds familiar to me, but I don't remember from where. If it is 'about' me, its from one of so, so many people who are fucking obsessed about me while I can't even remember their names.

Capitalize on it and make your own. Think about it...
The RPGPundit Presents - The RPGPundit Character Class. Keep it lighthearted and confuse your enemies. :D
(posted to wrong thread somehow)
If they can make Pundit into a character class, then I'd love to see someone make me into a D&D character class as well.

I don't know. These people that are maybe potentially so "fucking obsessed about me[sic]" created something that barely addresses any of Pundy's real or purported qualities. They might look at you and make a class that is a doctor who likes sammies (sandwiches) and call it a day.
The Doc Sammy class uses shaman magic that is empowered by totems which are body pillows.

Eh, I'll allow it. I own my shortcomings.
I don't think I'll be doing a Pundit-class RPGPundit Presents. The Kitchen Sink (http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/228161/RPGPundit-Presents-10-The-Kitchen-Sink) is about as silly as I intend to get (because silly as it is, it's still totally useful in a gonzo game).

I just thought it would be fun, and any character class that is balanced (more or less) can be useful. No worries, it was a light hearted suggestion. :)
The real "Pundit Class" is just a pipe-smoking wizard with a bad attitude.
