This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Loving this list.

I feel like pulp coincides somewhat with the Spiritualism movement or at least the tail end of it. So ghosts and poltergeist. Then there are religious movements that can spawn bad guys, like zombies (Voodoo/Hoodoo), golems (Judaism), demons (Christianity).

There is a lot of fiction around WW2 magical combatants that overlap with the pulp era. Soviet witches and psionicists, German necromancers, etc..

There's lots of stuff that could fit into a Pulp game, it all depends on what Pulp Genre you want to tackle. I'm trying for Indy + Quattermain + Spy Hunters + Detective with MAYBE some Mystery Men added for good measure. There's a different game I'm working on for Pulp Sword & Planet. That last one will be Flash Gordon + John Carter + Carson but with an original world/setting and afterwards others.

Ah OK, sorry I missed that. Sounds interesting!

No need to be sorry, I hadn't said that in this thread (if at all in the forum).

Here is why this forum tends to be so stupid. Many people here think Joe Biden is "The Left", when he is actually Far Right and every US republican is just an idiot.

I am madly addicted to the pulp detective radio classic "Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar." Any of the 1955-1956 Bob Bailey 75 minute 5-episode runs (15 mins each episode) were superb. A lot of good pulp villains in there. No monsters though - all human villains.

Are your dinosaurs the fast modern paleontology type or the slow style they used in the pulp days? And what of little green men? Was that a post pulp thing?
Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing. ~Robert E. Howard

I think the dinos are fast, but I might be wrong, need to double check. Little green men with huge heads in a fishtank, yes, I've got my totally-not-Mars-Attacks martians
