This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Publishers, Designers, heed my call!

Quote from: HinterWeltWould you be interested in doing a conversion for Roma Imperious to True 20? I am getting emails from fans asking for it.

Bill

I don't really know much about Roma Imperious's system or setting (beyond the obvious Roman Empire theme) so it is difficult to gauge what my interest would be. If you want to discuss this further, you can shoot me an e-mail at Dragonspawn(at)gmail(dot)com.

Quote from: mattormegI've heard good, good things about RPGObjects, but haven't had the pleasure of giving them a good read, yet. You've piqued my interest, for sure.

I provided MrCrow with a PDF for the site to review. Id be happy to provide you with some as well.

Same goes for RPGPundit.

Bill,

Not to provide Conan with unwanted competition, but you may also want to send JongWK a PM about this, if you're really serious about it.
Jong is not only an accredited RPG writer (he wrote a number of different things for Shadowrun, including the latest version of Seattle, if I recall correctly), but he's also a big fan of Roman history/culture, and a big True20 fan, and has had considerable experience with playing in a Roman historical campaign run with True20.

RPGPundit
LION & DRAGON: Medieval-Authentic OSR Roleplaying is available now! You only THINK you\'ve played \'medieval fantasy\' until you play L&D.

GRIM

'45: Psychobilly Retropocalypse
A 30's - 60's psycho/rockabilly apocalypse where WWII was found to a standstill with atomic weapons and all the old 'radioactive monster' movies had an accurate idea of what would happen. Bizarre mutations, giant insects, fast cars, hot women and rock and roll.
Xpress system.

@ctiv8
Modern political conspiracy game where Global Frequency meets Mission Impossible meets Tribe.net. Episodic format with portfolios of characters instead of just one. Basically people taking it upon themselves to make the world a better place.
Xpress system.

100 Adventure Seeds
SF, Fantasy and Horror. 100 Adventure seeds for each genre, in a seperate book. Each comes with several twists that can turn even a cliched basic idea into something more interesting.
Generic.

100 Kingdoms
First in a companion line describing locations, 100 Planets will be next.
Generic.

ACTUAL Series
Addresses some of the quirks in D&D classes and prestige classes. So far has a religious monk rather than a ninja and an assassin who actually kills people and doesn't use magic. Paladins would probably be next for the clue-hammer.
d20.

Feast of Crows
Abstracted d20 mass combat system for pitting large units of men and monsters against each other. Scalable from small unit actions to large actions. Several support books add different army information and additional rules for things like sieges.
d20.

BLOOD!
Gory and unabashed horror game. The video nasty of horror RPGs with revised rules from an original edition by Norley Tucker and Steve Osborn in 1990.
Percentile based custom system.

Bloodsucker: The Angst
I was in The Camarilla LARP society for quite a few years and was immersed in goth subculture for much of that time as well. In this game I basically vent my spleen about goths, The Camarilla and White Wolf.
d20 Modern (mostly for the irony factor).

Clipart Critters
A good selection of clipart by Brad McDevitt (of NightLife fame).

Cloak of Steel
Fantasy + Mecha. Quite heavily Escaflowne influenced but developed a lot further with a well detailed world.
d20 (Live System - modified).

Final Straw: Highschool Revenge
You're an outcast highschool student who finally snaps and goes on a killing rampage at their school. Will you get your point across or will your killings be blamed on videogames, comics, music, homosexual tendencies or will it be used by fundamentalist Christians and the NRA for political points?
Card game.

Hentacle
Girls + Tentacles = Fun.
Very pornographic, very  fun, point-scoring card game of tentacle rape. With two expansions, created on a drunken bet but a perennial fan favourite. Interesting 'solitaire' variant.
Card game.

Live System
d20 variant without classes or levels.
d20

Urban Faerie
None of this Changeling crap. Faeries brought into the modern day becoming like pigeons or urban foxes. Feral, nasty, mischevious.  Good for pick up games of anarchic mayhem.

Feel free to send me a complimentary review copy if you like.  :D :naughty:

If only i had that power mate! I'm waiting for my own contributor copy to arrive.

Hastur T. Fannon

I contributed two sample groups (the Knights of the SCA and PirateNinjaRobot) to YotZ: Marauders.  It's a suppliment for Year of the Zombie focusing on looting and raiding

There will also be a couple of sample characters of mine in YotZ: Traders

YotZ: Havens (Now With 50% More Intestinal Parasites!) should be out late Q4 2006 or early Q1 2007.  Written by Tim and myself, this will focus on building communities and running community-based campaigns.  I've taken out the Japanese Schoolgirls, though the Lesbian Ninja Pirates are still there

After that I've got a couple of screenplays to write, but I'm kicking around either a superhero setting or a sci-fi setting, both for d20 Modern

:( With no Japanese schoolgirls do the Lesbian Ninja Pirates at least double as strippers? :p

More intestinal parasites is good. (downloading YotZ preview)

Oh and all I've done is help playtest some stuff for Piquet, QLI, Avenger and sit in on some SJG playtests. Still, fun stuff.

I'm all about it. I just sent you a PM.

T-Willard

I coauthored:

Crimson Contracts: Assassin's Manifesto, printed by ENPub, which is pretty much almost everything you'd need for an assassin campaign.

Arcane Strife: Over 100 nasty spells. Like CC:AM it's 3.0, but still good.

Mystic Strife: 300+ spells, like AS, but for 3.5

I wrote:

Quickshots Mission File: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie

Year of the Zombie

Year of the Zombie: Marauders

Year of the Zombie: Fleshmongers

Year of the Zombie: Independence Day Massacre

Year of the Zombie: Hold At All Costs: Zero

I've had input on loads of other projects, mostly uncredited (which is how I like it) but my favorite so far is Year of the Zombie.
I am becoming more and more hollow, and am not sure how much of the man I was remains.

I've written a bunch of free stuff for Savage Worlds. On cold, dark nights, when I need a little pick-me-up, I like to think that the positive fan reaction to Savage Beasts was partly responsible for GWG releasing their Toolkit line. I don't know that that's actually true, of course, but it gets me through the night. Last I heard, Beasts had been translated into a couple of different languages (French and German, IIRC; it's been awhile), which is pretty cool I think.

I co-authored the Core Elements Toolbox with James Hargrove. It's easily the most downloaded file on Zombie Nirvana, it spawned a small mailing group, and garnered me fan mail from as far as France. Which is also pretty cool.

I compiled the vsM Engine for Phil Reed. It's about 95% Phil's work; mostly I just distilled it down and genericized it. But I managed to work in a few things of my own that folks seemed to like.

My first big writing gig was writing an M&M Superlink book, Orwell Industries, which got some good reviews.

Now I'm working on my own. Although the imprint on the cover says "Zombie Nirvana Games", they might as well be called "100% Butch", because that's what they are. I do all the writing, art, and layout by my lonesome.

I released my first book, an M&M Superlink villain collection called The Graveyard Gang, a couple of weeks ago to good reviews. The next book will be out in the next 2 weeks: Circle 7, another villain collection, featuring a ridiculously popular superpowered Satanic death metal band. (Think KISS or Deathklok with superpowers, and you've pretty much nailed it.)

Going forward, I've got more Superlink books in mind, as well as my unfortunately delayed, vs.M Engine-powered, splatter horror game Grindhouse (aka "vs. Chainsaws"; I can't decide on which title I like better).

In production, but with no firm timeline for release, I've got two generic location supplements inspired by S. John Ross's Points in Space. The first line will be for general modern campaigns, particularly superheroes and other action or investigation games, while the second will focus on horror locales.

I'm going to see how long I can keep up a one product a month release schedule; when I finally burn out from that, I'll take a couple of months to write one of my many long-form dream projects.

You did Savage Beasts? YOU ROCK! (I'm totally throwing the devil horns hand signal right now!)

I'm one of those unimaginative sorts who love running bog-standard fantasy using Savage Worlds. I've gotten a LOT of use out of Savage Beasts.

I also love your company name. Very evocative.

Thanks! I'm really proud of that one. I'd planned on doing a horror one as well, but then PEG started putting out the toolkits, and figured my time would probably be better spent elsewhere.

I think it rolls trippingly off the tongue, but that might just be me. :D

Edit: Oh, and I love making maps.

Hi there.

If its pimpage you require, then pimpage you shall have :D

Our first product is due out at the start of next month and its a sci-fi / horror setting book for the d20 system.  There's a non-d20 version currently in the works as well. Here you go:

The Nightmare War:
Possessing the form and memories of a human life and the elusive nightmares of a truly alien past, you must contend with a new life as something more than human.  Distorted nightmares torment you, hinting at a horrible, eternal existance in servitude.  Is this your future, or your past?  It's time to find others like you. There must be others like you.  Time is running out. There will be a cataclysm on this earth before they take you, you must be ready.

They are coming!

Thanks for the bump clash.

Kent here, from Dark Matter Studios.

Epic Role Playing - a pen-and-paper fantasy rpg whose design goals revolve around cultural immersion for characters and a deadly, active tactical system.  The resolution mechanic is 2d10 summed plus a skill modifier, magic is consistent with the rest of tactical play, and character creation is tied into a guild/occupation system that is in turn tightly woven into whatever setting you're playing in.  Our goals with Epic RPG: combat is deadly, magic is rare, and where you come from is important.

The Weird of Skellbrith - The first of our free .pdf adventures for Epic RPG, it takes place in the far northern tribal lands of Rimenor, from our Eslin campaign setting.  Iron age tribal villages, huge white pine and sequoia forests, and deadly struggle on quiet fields of snow.

Upcoming Projects we're working on include:

The Butchers of Umbrion - another free adventure, this time in the high feudal lands of Rullaea, another one of our settings.  Assassination, the twin arcane sciences of alchemy and metaphysics, and the godless Pentonite religion take center stage.

That's coming out probably before the end of the year, but the two big kahunas are a repackaging of the system from four core books to two, though the four present books will still be completely compatible - the changes will be cosmetic.  One volume will be a combination of our Rules Manual and Book of the Arcane with a sample slice of one our settings shoehorned in, and the other will be a complete Atlas of our campaign world Eslin.  The current Atlas of Eslin contains three diverse, continent-sized campaign settings, the full version will have nine, and will also include all the information we have in our Bestiary.  Both will run for $450 apiece, or around $30 each - we're not sure yet.  ;)

Those should be both ready for release (gulp) by GenCon Indy next year.   :D
