This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

There are section on the economy, government, demographics, flow of information, extensive random encounter tables fro day/night for each district, Interesting Events tables that might happen once a week, etc, etc, etc.

PLUS - beneath the city, there are numerous adventuring areas that can provide literally years of gaming fun: The Sewers, Ghuls' Labyrinth, the Caverns of the Galchutt, and abandoned Dwarven City, extensive natural caverns that eventually lead to a deep Dark Elf inhabited area, The Banewarrens beneath the Spire, the Spire itself, the ruins of the first city of Ptolus built and destroyed several thousand years ago, the Vaults of the Rhodintor, the Serpent Caves, the Eternity Caves....the Prison, The Slave city and the Undercity Market.

I own both the Big Book (which you can get on e-bay for ~$80) and the pdf version which is immensely useful in locating every entry where The Pale Dogs are mentioned.

When you buy the Big Book you get a coupon for 25% off any Ptolus related product at DrveThru RPG (including the pdf version of the book), and there are lots of great support products such as the great SkeletonKey Games battlemap printouts for the Swers, Ghul's Labyrinth and several of the adventure path seeds contained in the Big Book.

OK - I'm done. Buy Ptolus - no way you'll regret it, even if you DO pay full price ($120)
