This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I was attempting to show something about the game on the cover - The differences in technology, the fact that there is no horizon, the sense of both isolation and openness, the primacy of the river - all are important in the game.

I like the image and I get the tech disparity angle... but of your list that's the only one. At first glance I didn't take it as being a river... no impression of isolation or a lack of horizon. I took it to be spacefarers visiting some primitive world.

Soylent Green

New! Cyberblues City - like cyberpunk, only more mellow. Free, fully illustrated roleplaying game based on the Fudge system
Bounty Hunters of the Atomic Wastelands, a post-apocalyptic western game based on Fate. It\'s simple, it\'s free and it\'s in colour!

i really hope thats a rough draft because that ship really does not blend in with the rest of the image i would redraw the ship itself.
If your having tier problems i feel bad for you son i got 99 problems but caster supremacy aint 1.

Apology\'s if there is no punctuation in the above post its probably my autism making me forget.

Yeah. It looks like a cut and paste job from disparate sources. Like you found a picture of two people kayaking and pasted in the mountain from a different photo (you can see the jaggies) and then a relatively low res rendered hovercraft.

Understandly given the price of art if you keep it, but it would look a lot better if someone drew it all in a same, coherent style.

Thank you all for your comments!

Jeremy, what you took as jaggies is the effect of using a bristle brush at a much reduced size, going for brushy vegetation. It wasn't a bad paste job but a hack artist trying and failing. And the ship isn't rendered, it was just clumsily painted there.

Clash- did you paint that by hand?

It's good:)

Simlasa

What's the book about anyway? I'm guessing something like a ringworld, maybe?

No, it's not, actually. Thanks, but I got the light on the ship all wrong. I still like the overall composition, but I have to work on it some more.

Close! It's a gas torus around a neutron star, with a billion mile long artificial river twisting around inside of it. :D

It is, though I'd suggest making the water slightly darker/more shaded as well.

The concept sounds pretty awesome.
Furthermore, I consider that  This is Why We Don\'t Like You thread should be closed

still a tiny bit off but not as horrible as the original if you had not seen the original you probably would not notice the few problems with the new one so yeah that should work

I actually prefer the original with the more subtle, watercolour style colouring of the craft rather than the sharp contours in the new version.

Don't you just hate feedback?

I was thinking the same... the first version looked less cartoony to me.
