Unfortunately I didn't get to do any RPGing but I did get to play the FASA Star Trek starship simulator and the boardgame Agents of SMERSH.
Surprisingly, It kind of turned into a big deal. People I know who aren't really "plugged in" were excited to take part, etc...
I followed at least three FLGSs that were running various events for the day.
You?
Got some boardgames done like Eclipse and Dixit. But no RPG sessions, sadly.
I'd scheduled a session of my D&D3.5 campaign before the announcement. So we had an 8 hour session of that.
If I hadn't, I probably would have scheduled one of my big game nights. I'll take pretty much any excuse to have a couple or three dozen people over for booze, snacks, and gaming.
It tripled as Tabletop Day/my belated birthday party/my best friend's going away...
We did board games: Betrayal at House on the Hill, The Legend of Drizzt D&D Board Game and A Touch of Evil (my favorite board game ever).
I played Arkham Horror. It was alright.
I love how people just make up days. Anyways, no, I didn't happen to play on this particular date.
Yea, thanks Felicia Day. Couldn't give a fuck what you think of as Tabletop Day just so you can help market your Youtube programs.
Moving on.

HEY! It's "don't judge silly bullshit holidays" day. Get in the spirit.

At least she decided it was on a Saturday, when I was going to be gaming anyway.
Besides, geeks love Felicia Day and Wil Wheaton. I read it on the internet.

As others have pointed out in the past, you've got this ass-backwards:
Tabletop is introducing people to boardgames who weren't previously playing boardgames. The primary function of Tabletop Day isn't to promote their TV show: It's to let local game stores promote themselves to the fans of Felicia Day and Wil Wheaton.
I forgot that I also played M*A*S*H trivia and beat the dude who "has seen every episode at least five times!"
But it was scheduled game day anyway. I didn't go to any game stores or special events. Although I did post on the facebook page that I wanted to tell Wesley Crusher that I wanted to bang his mom.
Wil Wheaton annoys me. Felicia Day does not. I didn't even know she had anything to do with Tabletop Day.

I didn't, either, but in the spirit of Tabletop Day, we introduced a HeroClix player who had never done any other kinds of tabletop gaming to the above mentioned board games.
Ran a session of Tenra Bansho Zero in the gaming store. The reaction was positive overall (all first timers and a couple players never played any RPGs at all before) although I wish I had all the kickstarter materials with me already.
Played a game of Smash Up with the kids at our local FLGS and had a good time. I'm sure playing the deck of zombies/dinos with lasers had something to do with that.
At the FLGS that I went to it was the busiest I'd seen in a long time, and that included the last Christmas shopping season.
No RPGing got done for me, unfortunately, but I didn't mind.

Yes, it's a boardgame equivalent of Free RPG Day. Which, now that I've thought about it, is on June 15th this year.
