This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

PIRATES? You want "Pirates" as an RPG - THIS is what you aim for...

....speaking of pirates.....

Anyone remember the gaming magazine that FASA used to publish called STARDATE??  It originally mostly covered their STAR TREK RPG , but later issues covered other RPGS...including their DOCTOR WHO game.

I actually tried to run an adventure that they had in there that was set up to involve a Time Lord vs. Cybermen and Blackbeard the Pirate.

Except I ran as a STAR TREK RPG scenario.

I had a 9th or 10 version of the Doctor as an NPC who was a bit rattled after his regeneration. His companions were a bit worried about , then these strange humans wearing primary colored uniforms show up and claim to be part of something called Starfleet.

The players were from the U.S.S. Valiant(Constitution-class vessel)...they wound up going back in time by accident to the time of pirates on old Earth.  There discovered a "big Bad nefarious plot " involving Cybermen, Klingons and a Pirate ship captained by Blackbeard himself.

So of course they wind up working with the British Royal Navy while in disguise....

God,  that game session was fun!!!

One of the wackiest game sessions I ever did - and I'm just now remembering it.  This must have been in 1989 or 1990 that I ran that game.

Beeber,

I technically DID mention that one - a song from it is in one of the YouTube videos I did in the opening post.

Kevin Kline is great as the Pirate King.
