This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Just a quick thanks to some of the members of this forum. The website is getting some strong momentum and the RPG products are moving; the reviews are helping, but the real success I think is that some of you have helped make it work through "word of mouth." Please keep this up!

Check the forum or the shop for more info, and to get more of an idea of what I'm talking about :) If you haven't done this yet, head on over!

Hey gang, I'm a new member but figured I'd pimp (late) a local mini-con, since I'm running a game there.

GameCon 2009 (this is the second year) is taking place in Aberdeen, MD (north of Baltimore) on April 17th & 18th.

http://www.freewebs.com/gamecon2009/

Prereg is closed; sorry for the late notice, but I wasn't even aware of this board back when I was doing my bit for advertising.

RPGs, board games, LARPs, a 40K tournament, video games, Cthulhu-themed saturday.

For my part, I'm running a comedy session, "Abe Lincoln and the Time-Travel All-Stars Versus the Brain-Eating Zombies of Dimension X".  Friday at 3 for sure, probably on Saturday as well if I can find a table.

If you were a gamer in or around 1988, especially in the UK, this complete collection of GM magazines will bring back a lot of memories. It also includes all GMI mags that came after GM's demise, minus #14.

If you are keen on multi-genre gaming of many sorts (RPG, LARP, computer, table top, even telephone!) this will provide both useful and nostalgic info. I have given a lot of detail below, so please check it out:

See more here...

There is also a link to Andrew Rilestone's Aslan #9 for those in the know.

Thanks,

K.

I've turned my campaign world into a series of materials for D&D 3.0. In particular Ye Olde Shoppe - a compilation of standard and original mundane items, complete with prices, weights, and rules - will be useful to many D&D campaigns.

What - legal pimping? Sort of takes the fun out of it. Kind of wish I had something to sell though. Have to settle for my mates' game Treasure and my RPG/ gaming blog at http://www.thistlegames.com/

Let's see what I can come up with:

"I had no idea how ignorant I was about gaming until I visited Thistle Games"
"Thistle Games changed my life"

Got it this time:

"Thistle Games would Like To Teach the World to Sing - in perfect harmony"

Damn that's so original I think I'll have to click through myself.

Now I'll pop off and try and do it the proper way to see if it's more fun

GameCon 2010 is taking place April 16, 17, & 18 in Aberdeen, MD (just north of Baltimore).  Preregistration is now open.

Although a small, local, con, GameCon had a good turnout last year, and should be even bigger (more people, more events) this year - especially with the extra day added.

Check out the website above for all the details (especially if you're interested in vending or running a game), but some of the highlights include:

* various LARPs including Star Wars and Vampire: the Masquerade (affiliated with One World By Night)

* two Warhammer tournaments (I think it's 40K one day and Fantasy another, not sure)

* assorted tabletop RPGs being run, plus lots of open tables and boardgaming

There are goodie bags upon arrival, door prizes and raffles, etc.

Along with the virtual gaming table applications, the recent growth of applications geared directly for gamers has increased. Applications such as PCGen, Dundjinni, Campaign Cartographer, Redblade, and e-Tools have ushered in a great new era of gaming, providing gamers with previously unknown power to unleash their creativity.

At long last we've finished Expansion #2 for The Thousand Thrones campaign for WFRP v2.

This double-sized expansion covers multiple subplots in Chapters 2, 3 and 6. You'll probably want to have a copy of the campaign book on hand while you read it.

I'm in Edinburgh on a Skinnerian simulation of a holiday, and I stopped by Black Lion Games this morning for the first time. It's a good shop with a good selection, especially of Mongoose Traveller, WoD and Runequest stuff. The staff person was friendly and helpful. Prices were very reasonable. I picked up the new Mongoose edition of Stars Without Number, and the LBBs Agent and Mercenary for Mongoose Traveller. Should you ever find yourself here, it's worth checking out.
