13th Age is... interesting, in a "what would 4ed have looked like if it got another edition (or two or three)".  Personally, I find it one of the more engaging D&D fantasy heartbreaker knock offs out there (the tone and "behind the scenes" bits especially), but it's very much not everyone's cup of tea mechanically.  I've had people say it's setting free, but that's a crock; there's an archetypal setting to be sure that gets fleshed out a little bit more in dang near every book (or gets "13 options for element X" at least).

It can exist but that doesn't mean people have to like it or the author. Just because someone is not woke, doesn't mean they want to be associated with that crap.

If I lived in place where the temperature was 120 degrees and I was in a building that was on fire, and everybody was running around screaming about how cold it was and how a blizzard will kill us all while they were trying to start more fires or pour gasoline on the ones already burning: I wouldn't get worried if I happened to see one snow flake suddenly fall.

That doesn't mean that that one snow flake isn't actually cold and it doesn't mean that if a blizzard were to happen that it wouldn't cause problems - but I'm worried about the heat and fire, not that single snow flake that will probably melt soon anyway.

That's kinda how I feel about this situation. The role playing hobby, in fact the entire geeky subculture, is being dominated and corrupted by left wing extremists. Right wingers in geekdom don't have much of a voice or influence, just like entertainment in general. That being the case, why would I worry about Varg Vikernes when he is just one guy with his one little game when people who are his left wing equivalent have taken over society? That is one reason why I never punch right.

When it starts to get hard to find an RPG without a White Nationalist agenda, then maybe I'll voice some objections, but until then I'm going to worry about the leftists destroying our hobby instead of one odd curiosity.

For some additional context, there has been a concerted effort to remove the creator from the internet and make it impossible for him to promote himself or profit from any kind of creative output. His music is banned from eBay and Facebook, and his personal Youtube channel was shut down about a year ago. I know that there are also attempts to have him removed from Spotify and Twitter.

FWIW - you would not be "punching Right" at Vikernes or any other NAZI LARPER.

It is  empirically clear when reading about their backgrounds and rise to power that Hitler and Mussolini's political and philosophical ideas emerged from their respective countries political left. Contrary to the still ongoing gaslighting campaign; Germany's National Socialism and Italy's National Facism were Left Wing movements.

They just believed that the communist/Marxist brand of 'soclialism' got it completely wrong, and that they hit upon a much better way of doing things.


As for MYFAROG - If I could locate a copy on the used market I'd consider getting it just for the sheer novelty value - but I'm not about to put money directly in the pocket of a guy who hates me, wants me to die, and has burned a church as proof of intent.

I appreciate those who put some links to review material for Myfarog here. I don't really know a whole lot about it except that every discussion about it seems to devolve into a personal litmus test about Varg. He's a polarizing figure, and I understand any responses that refuse to support a guy with a sordid history, but it's annoying how the whole drama situation always overshadows the game's merits/flaws.

Well said, ShielWife! I agree. Myfarog certainly deserves to exist, and be marketed, like any other game. It should not be burned or censored, just like Thirsty Sword Lesbians should be allowed to exist--or the Black Power game flavour of the month game. Myfarog is an obscure game, written and produced by an obscure author. The gaming hobby faces far more serious danger from Leftist/Marxists and assorted rainbow hippo activists determined to corrupt the gaming hobby beyond all recognition.

It is such dangers that I am far more concerned with.

I'm pro death penalty, and from what I can tell of the facts I think in a just world Varg ought to have been executed for murder. In which case MYFAROG would not exist. So I guess it 'doesn't deserve to exist', as much as that can apply to a non-sentient entity.

Of course our society is being destroyed mostly by the Far Left (including Far Left murderers in positions of power like Angela Davis, former Weather Underground, & other evildoers), and not at all by the powerless Far Right. That doesn't make Varg any less reprehensible. Punching Right is easy and risk free, punching Left is dangerous. That doesn't mean we should never Punch Right though, IMO.
