This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

THere's a Vampire campaign sort of like this IIRC.  It essentialyl follows the entire history of one of the clans, Giovanni/Cappadocius IIRC, from it's founding all the way to the modern day.

Vampires being immortal and all, you can technically just go all the way through with the same character, but a lot of the folks I knew who ran it changed characters when they went through eras, either because of character death, or jsut because.

Quote from: flyingmiceI don't regret it. I had like five or six shelves of the stuff clogging up everything. I've finally filled those shelves up - now I'm eyeing my shelf of AD&D books I haven't used in seven years... I could use that space! :O

Any idea what it was called? It sounds like something I wouldn't mind running at some point. Did it use Dark Ages and Masquerade side by side? If so, were there any conversion guidelines for people that want to maintain the same character?

Never done anything like what you described clash. But the sequel to my Active Exploits game set in Germany during the 40's takes place in the 80's with the pcs playing the children of the characters from the 40's (and is the repercussion adventure, so to speak)...I'm using Spycraft :evillaugh:

Digging into the P&P database, it looks like it's called Giovanni Chronicles, printed on the Black Dog label, in four parts.  I'm not sure if it used Dark Ages for the early stuff or not, I dont' know anything about the mechanics.

There's another 4-part set called Transylvania Chronicles that might be similar too, but I dunno what that one's about at all.

I've run a few similar concepts over the years.

A while back a guy I know ran an SR game based off of the events in my own game, his players played investigators who were tracking the players in my game, who were playing your average run of the mill "Shadowrunners".

I also ran an Earthdawn game and a Shadowrun game that were interconnected.

Brasky from Animal Ball and I are going to be running Tandem Star Wars D20 settings where both of us are molding the setting to use on separate groups.

Quote from: flyingmiceHeh! Now that sounds intricate to me, Pundit! How do you judge what that repurcussion will be? Seat of the pants?

Well, no, its more often something akin to character-crossovers, or event crossovers.

The most recent big one was one adventure in the Legion of Superheros where a group of Legionnaires traveled back in time to ancient China, and ended up fighting a brainwashed Lu Bu.

A week later, in my Qin game, the players heard about how Lu Bu had fought "gods that came down from the Jade Heaven", and this prompted him to give up his semi-retirement and go back on the warpath.

Likewise, I have certain NPCs who appear in many or all of my campaigns, and while they generally seem to be natural to each setting (ie. they have a place in each setting) they occasionally give hints that it was actually the same person in those other settings. In particular, my NPC Scotsman "Smiley" has done this often.

I've occasionally had some implied "multiverse"-spanning events too, or weeks where common themes come into play in each of the campaigns.

More cool variations! This style of gaming is less wierd than I thought... :D

I need a second GM so I can try some of these!

All these are awesome ideas! I have one Non--player character who has made it between various campaigns - a giant, intelligent raccoon named Ulmet who started off in Gamma World 1E, appeared in D&D 1E and 2E campaigns, then showed up in two different StarCluster  games. :D

During the last session, we switched back to the 1645 game, and the players took a long while to get on track with their old characters. They weren't behaving like they used to. By the end of the night, they were something like they were before - at least recognizable, at any rate.

They didn't have this problem when we switched to the modern characters, and I'm wondering whether it was a one time thing or a problem area.
