Recently, I saw something in a couple of Palladium RPG books which was different from what I've seen historically. Most Palladium products show what printing they are: 1st, 2nd, 4th, 8th, etc. But recently I encountered a couple of books which say they are Special Printing 1. These were Palladium Fantasy RPG 2nd Edition and Heroes Unlimited 2nd Edition Revised. Both were dated 2017. These were both regular edition softcovers, not any of the variant gold hardcover releases.
So, my question is, does anyone know why they're "Special Printings?" What's special about these particular printings?
Perhaps a small restock run for core rule books. I do not imagine Palladium Books does big prints runs anymore.

This. They tend to do smaller runs and keep their books in print.
No idea. Curious.
Does anyone know if Palladium's books are done by the same printer they used in the past? Most of my old books were sewn softcovers which are pretty much bomb proof.

Palladium Books have long touted the lost cost and durability of their books.
I can't recall any of mine losing pages even after decades of use.
I would prefer the covers be sturdier, particularly the big books which curl with use.

I don't know if they are using the same printers but they are still durable as heck and the table lie is so flat.
They're definitely super-durable. Probably the oldest intact book I've got in my collection is the 1st Robotech RPG book, which I've had for like 30 years now and is still in very good shape.
In comparison, the AD&D 1e DMG I've owned for about the same length of time and used about as much is completely falling apart.
