This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Outrageous!

Quote from: James McMurrayMaybe we're using a different definition of mainstream. They're second in sales figues, which is all that matters to my estimation.

I'm pretty sure at least one regular poster bridles at the term mainstream, but I can't quite remember who or why.

Anyway, it's vaguely grognardy but with a smattering of those wierd hippy kids too, mostly it's just a smaller forum with most of the posters being people who regularly game and minimal moderation.

P.S.  Keep in mind that some of the wierd hippie kids are pretty old too.

For the most part it's a place for talking with folks who actually play RPGs instead of just wank about them.

Yeah, but they're young at heart.

My guess would be through violently ripping the hearts out of young traditional gamers and using them for transplant purposes.

Which to be honest, does get tempting as I get older.

A gamer's heart? If you wanted to steal food from a grocery store would you shoplift the No Name™ crap?

I take your point.

Also, from what I saw recently at a con, the indie guys tend to be in better shape than the more traditional gamers.  I make no further comment on that though...

Speaking of your swearing, it's been a while since you had a nice long rant about people who are anti-STEAM.

That should fill your cuss quota for about a week. :haw:

Playing: Star Wars D20 Rev.

A lack of moderation doesn\'t mean saying every asshole thing that pops into your head.

Oh man, you remember that?

Heh.  I do get kinda impassioned when it comes to defending Steam, I just think it's a really important development for gaming.

Then I will. It's hard to pick up weight when you have ADHD.

The one thing posters here have in common is a serious dependence on psychiatric medication. For example, The Pundit uses nicotine. :)

Eating isn't the problem, it's making sure that caloric income exceeds caloric expenditure.

Quote from: CalithenaSo, I feel that I'm among spiritual comrades somehow...but why? Is there some common bond among the users here?

I dunno, but you need to post more often. You're one of the more er. . . level-headed. . . old school fans that I've met online. I hunger for more productive discussions of old school products that don't degenerate into "If it's new, it's crap and if you play new games, you're retarded!" (which is pretty much the official motto of several old school discussion communities currently online). I mean, I have my infrequent discussions with Rothe, but that's just not going to cut it ;)
