This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

World of Darkness now open for 3PP development?

Which there can easily be a OSR version of WoD without real life politics shoved into it.

Is there an OSR world of darkness clone? I ran into a system a few weeks back that DID read like a Vampire 1e clone (system wise). Ahhh varying target numbers on the d10 with varying dice pools... how I missed you!

A modern horror game is likely going to include current events. How butthurt you get about the political bias you read in the "tea leaves" you make with the pages hardly counts as having "politics shoved into it". Do you leap from the chair screaming "stop shoving your fingers into my mouth" when the dentist starts looking at your teeth? The presence of fingers near your mouth hardly counts as shoving...

Quote from: Snowman0147;1067974Honest truth.

Why go for 50% profits when you can go for a near 100% (cause Onebookshelf wants their cut) with your own ideas?  Where you not lock down and you have the freedom to do what you want.

Your giving up freedom.
Your giving up on money as well.  The royalties should be at least 75% to be worth the risk.

Because you get to play with World of Darkness, or Forgotten Realms or the Third Imperium , etc. If was just a CCP that offered a rule set, you got a point. But existing settings merit different considerations.

Why should I respond to you when you go try making things personal?

You just did.

OK then...

You have demonstrated a strong bias against nWOD, WOD, COD in the past. You're claiming a strong political bias in the works. I'm not seeing it. I feel that you are exaggerating the point to disparage the game because you hate it. Which is absurd. I'm not making it any more personal that you have in your crusade against the game line. I was drawing an analogy.

No you not.   Frankly just because I don't like the game line and more importantly the companies behind said game line doesn't mean you get personal on me.  Seriously do I go around saying things about you, or make things personal to you?

Think about this for a day, or two.  Throughout this topic I had been saying the deal is bad and why.  Disagree with me all you want, but I never went on a personal level on anyone in this topic.  Seriously you have no excuse.

Looks interesting, but lots of limitations. It seems like they specifically want material that adds to current stuff they can grab onto later as they wish.

From the way I read the FAQ you couldn't do your own version of how the WoD is laid out with your own alternate locations based on that.

Understandable, but a shame.
