This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Sadly, they probably count on the fact they can make baseless attacks without repercussions because litigation isn't cheap.

I, for one, would donate to a gofundme.

Litigation might not need to happen if the platform where these defamatory statements are being made takes issue with it and the affected people raise a stink. Sometimes the threat is all it takes.

I wish there was someone out there who would work on contingency so you could sue these idiots and not have to pay up unless you win.  Maybe losing lawsuits would send a clear message that making comments like that can be costly.  I dont even care if they have much, but if they have a house, a car, etc that you could take away from them, bet they wouldn't do that twice.

I could be wrong, but wouldn't a "Christian Satanist" be a Satanist who actually believes in/reveres the Satan of the Bible, as opposed to a LaVey-ite Satanist, who is more of an atheist with added pomp and circumstance?
I guess so? I've only ever seen Christian Satanists in fiction and propaganda.

For those curious about my beliefs, here's a blog post I made months ago:  https://vengersatanis.blogspot.com/2021/09/gotta-serve-somebody.html

TL;DR: Culturally, I'm becoming more Christian everyday when I see how society is breaking down before our eyes.  Individually, I'm a Satanist... however, I don't think the majority of human beings are capable of handling the left-hand path.

In this case, the relevant part would be the itch.io terms of service, which say -

QuoteProhibited actions include but are not limited to:
...

  • Posting unlawful, misleading, malicious, or discriminatory content;
  • Bullying, intimidating, harassing, defaming, threatening others, or violating the legal rights (such as rights of privacy and publicity) of others;

It's worth a shot.

While I hate to play tattle tail, I emailed their support pointing them to the link, the comments made and how they are libel and could be legal trouble.  We will see what happens.

I already reported it and let them know what was said, the website, etc.  We will see what happens.  It would be funny if these idiots lose their site.

Have you gone from being an atheist then, man? I'm always interested to hear what changes someone's mind. I'm was the opposite I was actually pretty religious but then fell away from it the more I got involved with the skeptical movement.

I get the Satanist thing though, from a freedom perspective especially if you look at the Satanic Church. They are literally a bunch of people trying to do good stuff and promote freedom even though they are atheists.

But it's all good man, each to their own.

Sure, Venger likes to push buttons and I applaud him for it. But he was doing it way before all the attention. It's just his style.

The stuff Venger does seems childish and not anything that I would use.  But again, that's fine.  If people like it then he can keep on keeping on.  Not for me to say he can't make that kind of stuff, I simply wont support him.

I've actually played with GJ. He's a great GM.
Why do you have a low opinion of him? He's always been very nice to me and is a genuine dude as far as I'm concerned.

Just things he has said and done make me wonder about him and he just doesn't seem like someone I want to game with.  I don't want to go deeply into it.   He can do his thing,  I will do mine.   All's good

I like quite a lot of Venger's stuff. Especially Blood Dark thirst and Alpha Blue which is awesome (I don't care about the sexual content in it). I tend to support him as he's been nothing but a gent to me and it's a nice two-finger salute to the woke scolds.

Again, I know Grim Quite well and I've worked with him. I may not agree with his anarchist views per se as they are too far left (anarchy is never sensible unless it's a short-term tool but it rarely works). But again GJ has always been cool to me.

But fair enough, everyone can do their own thing so it's all good at the end of the day.

Probably don't like having hassle from a company and business perspective.

So if Pundit, Venger and Grim were coming to the game table, who do you want to GM and who would be better as players?

THAT would be a real OSR game jam!

Venger as DM. He's the most neutral of the three. Then he can put Pundit and Grim in a political debate class with a Beholder teacher. 😉

Thank! I figured something like this had to be against the term of service, but was too lazy to check. :P

Same. Don't like it, but sometimes you have to put your money where your mouth is (or typing fingers as might be the case) and we can't let stuff like this slide, because it just emboldens them. So I went right ahead, followed the links jhkim posted and did it.

Ironically though dropping this type of brown nose virtue signaling is great (and hilarious) because you know who not to do a Game jam with in the future (and in the case of Monkey Genital games who not to buy off too).

Win-win really... :)
