This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

FFG Problems?

Ghost Whistler

Are FFG having problems? They seem to have abandoned Black Crusade entirely as Tome of Excess isnowhere to be found. Only War has Only one book which is half the size of comparable 40k player guides and, by all accounts, is a massive fuck up in terms of rules. Edge of the Empire seems to have disappeared entirely. The basic set came out months ago and not a peep since.
"Ghost Whistler" is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). Parental death, alien battles and annihilated worlds.

Edge of Empire is on the boat and due next month including GM's Kit. It was delayed by two months due to printer issues. First supplement was announced last week. I imagine it will be very healthy when it hits.

Prometheus Exxet for Anima: Beyond Fantasy is scheduled for June 17. I think FFG is still alive.

And their card games are still selling like gangbusters, so they're not going anywhere.

Most places are still having trouble stocking X-Wing, and Set 3 is due in a month or two. I don't think FFG is in trouble.

However... I wouldn't be surprised if we don't start seeing news/rumors about a new edition for their 40k lineups. Just a hunch...

I expect them to take on no more than they can cope with.

And hire editors.

Is that double negative on purpose or not?

It do seem like you instead mean:
"I wouldn't be surprised if we will start seeing news/rumors about a new edition for their 40k lineups. Just a hunch..."
I may not dislike D&D any longer, but I still dislike the Chaos-Lawful/Evil-Good alignment system, as well as the level system.
;)

unintentional...

I blame my lack of sleep and poor grammar skills...

Their rulebooks lack good editing, so I have no expectations of such for RPGs. Then again, the RPGs aren't that messy, as compared to others.

Ghost Whistler

They haven't announced another game so perhaps they are focussing more on Star Wars. Perhaps they are planning Dark Heresy mark 2. I really thought they'd do more with the Eldar, but presumably that's not happening.

It is fatiguing dealing with their presentation and ignorance of the rules they designed. So. Many. Mistakes. The Hammer of the Emperor review on DarkReign.org is pretty harsh!
