This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Has anyone played this? I'm very familiar with the system it uses. But how is the setting? Any opinions and/or info would be greatly appreciated

Ran it for a very brief game. Pretty much all the key pieces of a lighthearted swashbuckling 17th century setting are there.

Plus you have Giant Parrot Riders versus Glidermen!

That sounds a lot like Clashes new game. Do these two have a bit of overlap/similarity?

I suspect the difference will be that Glorianna will be a lot more serious in tone (although possibly more Gonzo too).

Sot7S when we played it felt like it had a big Saturday morning cartoon vibe. For example one of the sessions focused on flying through a asteroid belt where all the asteroids are hollow and contain random things when they burst open.

OK it seems like the setting is more gonzo than what I expected. Hmmm.....

If you kept you game entirely upon one of the floating islands, it could be run pretty straight. One of the Islands contains basically France and Arabia, and you could easily set a historical game there. Each island has a protective dome that Skyships cannot enter, so they could simply not feature.

As soon as you start flying between the Islands however, much oddness will happen.
