This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

On the horizon for '07

For 2007:
Deluxe BRP if it comes out - good to have it all in one place and for multiple genres
Warhammer 40,000 Roleplay: Dark Heresy
Rolemaster Classic if on sale; I have more chance of running HARP, which only requires 1 book to run & has the excellent HARP Lite for free

T5 - not interested. It could've been an ideal Traveller, but T4 was also supposed to be that.  From Traveller5.com and CotI the task system is T4 sans half-dice, chargen is effectively T4+, and there was a smallcraft design system using TrueType fonts like a Lite-Brite template. The full design system is FF&S2 based. In other words T4.5 unless MWM has a totally new draft he's not showing*.

GenCon 2007? If it comes out then I'll be surprised and it can't IMO have had enough time for proper shakedown. I'd prefer a later release over a rushed one. I'd prefer even more something along the lines of ACT, which MWM nixed, though that needed a non-rushed going over last I saw of it.

* which considering his lack of direct communication & intermittent piecemealing of design ideas is possible if not probable

The Dresden files RPG.  But I might pass and just use OtE for rules, and the novels and TV series for source material.

Aside from some new Exalted, D&D and Star Wars stuff, there's nothing I can think of now that merits interest.

DBRP, yeah. Actually, I think it's going to be C(haosium)BRP.

Oh, and I hear there's going to be a Spica sector sourcebook for Classic Traveller.:naughty:

We have Roma Imperious True 20 being worked on as we speak. Should be out by Gen Con 07. Also, Shaolin Squirrels: Nuts of Fury, Squirrels Ahoy: Squirrels of the Spainish Main, Chevalier: Medieval Fantasy, Britannia: Edge of the Empire and Tern Planetary Guide.

Man, I need to get writing. :)

Vice Squad: Miami Nights written by yours truly.  Was scheduled for a January release, but I think it's going to get bumped to February.  :(

GRIM

There's a couple of projects I'm freelancing on that I'm looking forward to seeing, hopefully this year.

For my own releases in the coming year there'll be...

  • Lots more Freakshow releases (modern horror creatures triple statted for Blood!, RuneQuest (using my horror rules conversion) and d20 Modern.
  • 100 Planets.
  • 100 Dark Places.
  • Alienz (working title) Invader Zim meets Paranoia meets Urban Faerie.
  • And, finally, the first book of All These Worlds... which will be a toolkit SF approach aimed at 'plausibility' and 'not as hardcore as Traveller'.

And other stuff if I get time/energy.
