This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: ColonelHardisson...I'm hoping to hear an announcement about D&D 4e in 2007...

I'm so sick of the endless speculation about this, I'm actually hoping for this as well, if only so we can move on.

Still, I don't think it will happen until 2008.

DeGenesis is not so good. Great Artwork, but the game is lame.
Basically it´s a ridiculous WoDesque Clan structure instead of character classes.
The rules suck donkey balls.

You can mine it for artwork and some concepts, but as a game, it fails.

It´s a typical RPG.Net darling of the month.

Quote from: ColonelHardissonIn some places this would be a hanging offense, but...I'm hoping to hear an announcement about D&D 4e in 2007, as well as news of a new edition of HackMaster. Beyond that? I don't really have anything I'm looking forward to. I'm pretty well-sated game-wise. Like others up-thread, I'd like to get a gaming group established this year, but who knows...
It has been seven years already, bring on the apocalypse. I will be in my C&C-inspired bunk...er. ;)

I'm not following any new game these days. Last time I checked (this morning) I had a list of 54 games I want to play. Yes, 54. So I'm not keeping with the news.

On my horizon for '07 are 7th Sea, RuneQuest 3rd ed, and CODA Star Trek.
My name is Ramón Nogueras. Running now Vampire: the Masquerade (Giovanni Chronicles IV for just 3 players), and itching to resume my Call of Cthulhu campaign (The Sense of the Sleight-of-Hand Man).

Me? I´m totally looking forward for the BattleLore! Expansions.

That's why I'll be keeping a close eye on that Star Wars d20 Saga Edition. I suspect any major changes we see there will be ported over to the next edition of D&D.
Why are there so many songs about rainbows and what\'s on the other side? Rainbows are visions, but only illusions, and rainbows have nothing to hide.

Yea, unless it's something that has a horrendous reception.  In addition to needing an upgrade anyway, I think new Star Wars will be a full beta of some 4e ideas.

Quote from: Dr Rotwang!I just wanna GAME this year.

Scooped.

Yeah, this has been a slow year for me, and more and more it's become my obsession to actually use the stuff I have.

That said, I'm waiting for the new Spycraft 2.0 stuff to roll out.

I am an old Traveller hand, but I'm not convinced T5 is going to add to my gaming experience in any way. I may or may not get it.

Running: Pathfinder Scarred Lands, Mutants & Masterminds, Masks, Starfinder, Bulldogs!
Playing: Sigh. Nothing.
Planning: Some Cyberpunk thing, system TBD.

I would welcome news about both of those as well.  I'd love a single book intro edition of HackMaster.

Yup.  IN is the two-letter postal abbreviation for the state of Indiana.  Hoagy Carmichael, John Mellencamp, Ernie Pyle and some other people are famous folk from here, just for a touchstone.

Yes, my wife and my ex-GF.  Mind, Kate was my girlfriend in high school, so that's...uh, 15 years ago.  We're still friends, and she did Amber's makeup for our wedding.

Has anyone expressed gleeful anticipation of Chaosium's deluxe version of the Basic Roleplaying rules? There's no precise release date, but the finished work has reportedly been handed to them to edit, lay out, and add art to, so it might come out in '07.
I am no longer posting here or reading this forum because Pundit has regularly claimed credit for keeping this community active. I am sick of his bullshit for reasons I explain here and I don\'t want to contribute to anything he considers to be a personal success on his part.

I recommend The RPG Pub as a friendly place where RPGs can be discussed and where the guiding principles of moderation are "be kind to each other" and "no politics". It\'s pretty chill so far.

I'd gleefully buy it when it comes out, but so far I haven't heard of any plans of when it'll be released.

Yes, that's something I'm looking forward to. I really liked the touches found in Elric! as compared to RQII/III (the only other BRP I'm familiar with), and I understand the other BRP games also have some neat options, so I'd like to see them all in one rules book without having to pay for setting material I'm not very likely to use.

Aside from that, the only thing that really comes to mind is Tenra Bansho Zero, a Japanese game which Andy Kitkowski is translating/developing for the English-speaking market.
