This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Is this a DCC world you'd like to see fleshed-out?

So last week we played DCC (the English-language game) and our newest player happens to have a blog, and he's posted a summary of the (first half of) the game I ran.

This is the ongoing DCC game that we've been playing only about once a month; and I've been reticent to reveal too much of the setting in my blog entries so far, I'm half-thinking I could make a sourcebook out of it some day.  But Gabriel wrote this awesome actual play report, showing off the "110% gonzo" of the setting, and I really can't resist sharing it.

Tell me what you think: is this a game you'd want to play in? Is this a setting you'd want to read, in detail?

Arkansan

Sounds like fun to me, I wouldn't mind hearing more.

Simlasa

There's not that much there to go on... but I like the idea of the elves living in 'domed metal cities' and having lost the knowledge to create new magic.
Some of the rest of it sounds a bit like an episode of Lil' Abner.

Benoist

Why not? The more the merrier, I say. The more accurate question to ask yourself would be how to use your time in the most efficient manner and do what it is you really want to do, because there's an infinity of games and settings that could be published out there, for one thing, and if you're really passionate about what it is you do, it's going to shine through. So the bottom line to me is to work on what it is you really want to share.

Kaiu Keiichi

Wow, that was like dropping the blue acid.

More please!
Rules and design matter
The players are in charge
Simulation is narrative
Storygames are RPGs

Not my taste at all for a fantasy setting. Sounds like a great setup for a Mutant Future campaign however.

RPGPundit

Well, I started it before I'd even heard of that game, but in some ways this could be seen as "RPGPundit's Numenera"... its set in the Stupidly Far Future, after all, after the end of the universe.
