What are some of the oldest games still in print?
D&D and traveller, obviously, and the morrow project. What other oldies are still around?

The Morrow Project is still in print?
As for D&D, I would say that the current version of the game is so different from the original that it is somewhat misleading to think of it as 'the same game'.
In any case, with respect to games that are pretty much the same now as their original incarnation, I'd have to go with
Call of Cthulhu (and most BRP games) and
Tunnels and Trolls.
I don't think GURPS has changed radically, but I'm not familiar with 4e.

Indeed it is, my dear Akrasia, as you will see at this site: http://www.timelineltd.com/catalog.html
AFAIK Amber?
Metamorphosis Alpha.
Fantasy Games Unlimited (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fantasy_Games_Unlimited) reprints some of it's games every now and again just to maintain copyright. I bought a new copy of Flashing Blades not that long ago.
Harnmaster
While it isn't a RPG, Star Fleet Battles is still in print and has maintained enough consistency and compatibility between Commanders and the current edition to still be considered the same game.
Is Recon still in print? I know many older Palladium titles are currently in limbo. The last version of Recon I'm familiar with was still the unupdated ruleset in a larger book which included the old supplements too.
That's all I can think off offhand. Everything else has been through drastically different editions and/or has gone out of print.

.
I think so. didn't they just release a new version of it not long ago?
I know that at one time there was a "modern" Recon in the works, but when I contacted Palladium, they told me it was cancelled.
Tunnels & Trolls, the 2nd oldest published RPG, as a new edition currently in print.
It might be a better question to ask, "What is the oldest game in it's current edition that is still in print?"

My guess is 1981's
Spawn of Fashan, arguably one of the worst RPGs ever published. Lawrence Schtick's review of it in
Dragon #60 was rather infamous in its day. As I understand it the author still has copies of the original print run and if you can track him down he will send you one for an outrageous price. (Fifty bucks, IIRC)

Well, since Palladium reps insist that Rifts Ultimate Edition is not actually a new edition of Rifts, that that might qualify.

I heard the working title of the project was Rifts Not So Very Ultimate Just More Of The Same Edition, but that would have taken up too much of the cover.
Amber WAS consistently in print from 1990 until early last year. It went out of print, for the first time ever, when Erick Wujcik started negotiating with GoO to sell them the Amber rights, with the idea that they would make a 2nd Edition of Amber.
Unfortunately, this did not come to pass, and now Amber isn't in print anymore either. :(

Classic Traveller is in print and on sale. That's 1977. I don't think anything else is older and still available.

The gap between the Traveller rules of '81-'83 and the reprints (starting in, what, '99?) strains the concept of "still in print" just a tad.
I was under the impression that the Classic Traveller reprints were just that - reprints of the old books. Am I wrong? Wouldn't be the first time. I never got the reprints because I still have my LBBs.

Wait - I think I misunderstood you! You meant the gap in time? Then you have a good point!

Yeah, I was talking about ~17 years that the game was not in print.

Gotcha! At first I thought you meant there was a gap in identity, that the reprints were actually different from the LBBs in something other than form factor. :D

If God had orchestrated the Traveller reprints, I might consider believing in Him.
Right now, though, it's Eris and the Flying Spaghetti Monster, all the way.
Call of Cthulhu springs to mind.
Yup. For all its so called "editions", call of cthulhu's BRP version is still basically the same game/system it was from the very beginning.
