This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Why Entryists Won't be Able to Destroy D&D

Quote from: RoyR;1079244Ethan van Sciver is monetizing the idea of comicsgate, and he is good at that.
But he has not produced the comic yet. I will be impressed when the first issue is out, and he does rise the same amount of money for the second.

This is what moving the goalposts looks like folks, and once the first issue is out I'm sure people like this will move them once again in a desperate attempt to make a point.

In the meantime, for comparison:

And even more relevant:

That's for #DriveThruRPG. On #RPGNow Harlem Unbound doesn't even rank, and Lion and Dragon sits at Silver. And that's after the latter lost its previous sales ranking and a month of promotion due to being mysteriously pulled from OBS.

Now for the record I think Harlem Unbound is a better product, and I fail to see the appeal of #CyberFrog, but I'm not going to use that as a basis for determining my reality or anyone else's. Because taste does not determine truth.

CondorDM, please feel 100% free to post your video links and set up threads talking about your opinion on other videos.

The oddness here is the title of your thread. Next time, list it as "CondorDM responds to RPGPundit's Video", or something else that ensures there isn't confusion about what's going on.

And you are welcome to pimp your YT channel.

Good points, my friend! CondorDM's channel was interesting, relevant, and thoughtful. Nothing wrong at all with pimping his channel.

Quote from: RoyR;1079184I am sad to see Pundit fall down the Comicsgate hole. For I can not see any failure of comics when it produces things like Saga, Monstress, Locke & Key on a regular basis. Rather Comicsgate is a sad movement of failed characters.

And the same for DnD. I have a hard time to see any of the tendencies that Pundit is talking about in the video.

Greetings!

Hello, RoyR. I've noticed that you do not post here on this forum very often, nor do you have an extensive history of posting here. I also have observed that nearly all of your posts are negative, abrasive, and critical towards everything Pundit says, and does. I'm left wondering if you consistently oppose Pundit, apparently believe he is an idiot, and is wrong on nearly everything he talks about, why are you here? What is your purpose in posting the frequent cascade of negativism and criticism? Your contributions, such as they are, seem to be specifically limited to such negative and critical commentary.

By the way, I am certainly not some kind of "thought-police". No one here is required to agree with Pundit on anything, or censored in any way for criticism. Your contributions stood out to me particularly because it doesn't seem like you post in any other kind of thread that doesn't involve being negative and critical towards Pundit. I find that to be somewhat strange.

Have a nice day!

I said that "Rather Comicsgate is a sad movement of failed characters.", not that they had all failed in business. That goalpost was placed by you.
And I stated that I would be impressed if EvS managed to repeat the feat. I would still consider him as a failed character though.

Wow, those goalposts moved sooner than I expected

Another favorite tactic of the #CtrlLeft is to create their own ambiguous terminology (like 'failed character') and then fail to define it. And so we get this weird situation where the subject becomes immune to counterargument because we don't actually know what their opinion is, and they can retroactively change what they (and you) mean at any time.

Anyway, since #SJWs use popularity and following as a measure of ones moral worth, I'll continue to apply exactly the same standards to their opponents.

RPGPundit

There really wouldn't be any problem at all with the OP posting his own video (as long as it's RPG related and doesn't violate any of the scant other rules of the site). But the similarity of the thread title to the title of my own video is the only issue here.

So CondorDM, I want to be clear, you are not in trouble here and I'm not offended (glad you thought my video was worthwhile), I'm only closing this thread to avoid confusion. That's it.
