So thinking more American Gods than Percy Jackson how well do you think LoO would work as a modern day fantasy game? Not planning it as a game but watching the American Gods to show and enjoying the idea, if not the mechanics, behind Scion was thinking could this work for the genre?

I guess I'd need to know what "American gods" is and what "Scions" means and who Percy Jackson is. Isn't Lords of Olympus the RPG Pundit's diceless strategy game?

American Gods is Neil Gaimans excellent Novel about gods living in modern age America and the relationship between them and the belief in them.

Percy Jackson is about demigods of the Greek pantheon who are forced to attend a protected Halblood Camp where they train to survive the enemies of the Greek pantheon that has it in for them.

Scionis White Wolfs RPG about the children of the gods discovering their heritage and walking the path to godhood.

And finally Lords of Olympus is a diceless RPG.

I must admit, my first thought when I read the book was that I'd use it in a modern setting (at least until the PCs started to wander the paths)

I admit it's mostly an academic idea. I love the concept behind White Wolfs Scion but the mechanics were shockingly bad.

Trouble is whilst I own it and think it's a great game (from reading) I don't know how Lords of Olympus plays and whether it could do urban fantasy as well as maybe another game.

Well of course, Lords of Olympus could be used for an American-Gods type game.  It's exactly the kind of thing it's set up for.

No bias ;)

Love the game but you don't think it's to high level for a more urban fantasy?

That depends what powers you use, and even what power level. You could run it at the "heroic mortals" level if you wanted.

I've got my foreseeable gaming plotted for a while but I can think of worse ways to spend my time than reading LoO again
