This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

As usual the so called SJW progressives say nothing about how TBP is engaging in censorship.

Can't stop the mutual circle jerk.

Apparently GG is shutting down sad to see another publisher though not too much when their politics overwhelms their good sense.

Where did GG say they are shutting down?

The SJW and Wokerati do not have money or resources to purchase anything. Trying to cater to their needs is an effort in destroying profit margins and driving away core business.

I find it rather hilarious that the outrage being directed towards TLG is not even from the intended, target audience, that the tweet was even directed to in the first place.

Edit to add: and also a little disappointed in Nogueiro's response. His games contain absolutely zilch of the continent he's stating that they should be aware of, he doesn't put political views in his games! So why would he even bother to make the statement in the first place? Truly sad.

The matter has resulted in some permanent bans on rpg.net.  Mainly on the, 'if you're not with us you're a racist' mob mentality that has come to dominate there.

I still haven't been banned...maybe I should use this to take care of that.
That would require me to actually re-log into my rpg.net account with a password saved on a browser two computers ago (c. 2014 was my last login there). I'll just leave it dead and buried and for them to find since they ban for offsite speech now.

Then I might be banned already.

How is Hasbro's attempt to destroy the OGL 1.0 going to affect Troll Lords? Their Castles & Crusades game uses the OGL, right? Have they said anything about this yet?

Ah yes the incredible hypocrisy ofTBP never fails to amaze or be showcased to be viewed by all.

So TLG no politics statement is considered political simply because they don't agree with it.

I'm going to go on a limb and declare "no politics" is a political statement.

Specifically, it is a rejection of a specific brand of political ideology best explained by a quote from an early practitioner who started out as an Italian Communist:

"Everything Within the State, Nothing Against the State, Nothing Outside the State"

I think it is reasonable to conclude those opposed to such declarations, declarations of a private sphere, embrace the ideology in the above quote or one of its relatives in the Totalitarian sphere.

It relies on 1.0 and materials under 1.0 cannot be removed from being under 1.0.

They'll be fine for both C&C and their 5e lines. They just will have to avoid 6e specific items.

I hope you're right. Hasbro sounds like they're willing to use large sums of money via weaponized lawfare to discourage people who sell material using the earlier license.

Same over on BGG. It's wrong only when someone else does it.

Troll lord is offering a Fire Sale on all their 5E products. $10 for a hardback and 3.99 for each of their 5e adventures.  Seems everyone is getting out of the 5e market.

The Lost City of Gaxmoor, looks interesting?

Gaxmoor is decent, as is the supplement, "The Undercaverns of Gaxmoor," both of which I have for C&C.  The main issue with most of the Troll Lord adventures, at least in their C&C incarnations, is that full stat blocks for monsters aren't provided and the writing can be rather uneven.  So you need to put the prep in ahead of time to run them.  But at those prices I'd say they're worth it.

You can buy all their 5e content for less than $120. $260ish if you want print and pdf. I snagged everything i could. Worth it before its pulped by WOTC
