This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Fuck you Amazon.

Thought about buying this yesterday but it wasn't on the shelves. I'm also tempted by Wild Talents essential edition, if it exists (didn't see it either).

Fail people selling overpriced books on Amazon are double fail.
"Ghost Whistler" is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). Parental death, alien battles and annihilated worlds.

It's not Amazon's fault people are selling books at too-high prices... but yeah, there's definately other places I'd look for books, like ebay.com and even abebooks.

Amazon is hardly the place to gauge rare OOP used book prices.

If you don't like the price there, I'm sure you could find it much cheaper someplace else.

e-Bay is always a good place to look. I've bought some real gems there for a very reasonable price.

I've also bought good used items on amazon sellers, but it isn't the only place to shop!

peteramthor

Yeah I saw somebody on Amazon selling a copy of Little Fears for a couple hundred bucks.  People price things on there way out of whack.

I don't know if i want it badly enough to pay extra in terms of postage. If it was ont he shelf i might have picked it up, but SW comes with a lot of brand-related baggage.

I was poking around for something else, and saw a copy someone was selling, in the shrinkwrap, for about $5k.

The Acaeum is a bit outdated, but they list first printing as " Box VF,
    Books VF/NM:
$5100* (7/06)".  So, two years ago, they were saying the expected value was in the $5k range, and that doesn't mention original packaging or shrinkwrap.

There is a recession going on. I suspect that the book value may have dropped more than a little.

Then again, the Dinky Dungeons stuff consistently went for about $300. Who'da thunk?

Enjoy that old plastic smell!
