I heard that the upcoming Legends of Grayskull RPG using the Cortex Prime system by Cam Banks has now been cancelled, since he sold the system to another company.
Has anyone heard if it is indeed canceled completely, or were the scarce rumors about the license also transferring to the new company correct? If it is indeed canceled, has anyone heard any rumors of another company picking up the license?
my understanding is that it is just on indefinite hold. The company has been sold, and this has lead to some kind of complicated copyright issue. Sorta like how Judge Dredd is a mess. My assumption is that they want to continue it, but this rights thing needs to be sorted out and that might take time and money.. so I wouldn't count on news soon. Also, you gotta take into account that the He-Man Netflix revival was a complete failure due to woke BS. I know that the He-Man boardgame kicker made it through but the other 2 he-man board games also folded after the netflix cartoon flopped.

Yeah, that's what I read from this article.

It's not clear what the new owners Dire Wolf Digital plan to do with Cortex. They're selling the existing Cortex RPGs as the only RPGs in their store:
https://shop.direwolfdigital.com/collections/rpg
But they haven't had any announcements about new products. I'm not sure why they acquired them if they're not planning on more RPG products down the road, but maybe their plans are just secret.

I hadn't heard about that. What happened?
They killed He-Man in the 1st episode and then the story was about Shelia and her gay lover.

It's funny because it's true.
I don't have the exact quote, but there was something about not being able to do Legends of Greyskull and Tales of Xadia both after the DnDBeyond buyout. I didn't get the impression they'd lost the license, but maybe not enough manpower or money.
They did drop all the LoG info and discussions from their Discord server, so I'm not holding out a lot of hope.
Cam Banks confirmed with me personally it is officially canceled.
Haven't watched the show, but I sometimes stock toys at work and the new He-Man is microcephalic. Deeply weird. I can't imagine it appealing to anyone, especially not the main buyer of action figures these days, 30-40 year old single men.

Hey! I happen to be in my fifties. :D
Well, in today's environment it would've scored really well, though, since he was one of the first to actually say his pronouns.

The "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" line based off the CGI Netflix series? That one's definitely skewed to the younger market, and since the line's been cancelled, it doesn't seem to have worked out. (The older market is being catered to more with Origins and Masterverse. :) )
