Sounds about right, considering WOTC's plans for D&D and MTG. It did make me stop and finally realize, "Who DO you really hire to run a brand like this?" Anyone in the tabletop industry is going to have a major increase in job title. The RPG industry isn't like film or video games where there's piles of companies of comparable size. Paizo is probably the closest. After that, the size of companies start dropping. So, based on their digital plans, this probably makes sense. I'm also glad I haven't bought anything WOTC in almost a decade.

That's not surprising. I'd be more surprised if he wasn't. In the end, he's gonna tow whatever line Hasbro wants him to. They just want someone that knows how to do digital DLC and expansions. In short, how to make fans pay even more money for the game.

Yes, though I do think his primary mission is to monetize and make the VTT a success. The woke thing is just a forced weight around his neck that he will likely gladly comply with.

WotC/Hasbro is going to try and turn their "VTT" into a mobile game, where you have "AI" GMs/Companions and can play while commuting to/from work.

What they want is endless microtransactions to better milk their paypigs...

And it's probably going to work.

I have this odd feeling that Any AI plugin to the VTT is going to fail. Sure it will bamboozle the usual idiots and cattle. But anyone wanting a better experience aint gonna get it.

But WotC is so insecure about 6e that they paid various influencers to review/preview 6e.

Yeah, a whole number of factors suggest that the VTT has problems.
