Huge fan of 13th Age so this is exciting to see! :P
I really hope they find a way to make icon relationships stick though. I rarely hear any praise for icon relationships in practice, only in theory.

Good for any fans. I personally didn't find it fixed my main issues with 4e, but Im glad it has its own supporters.
Hmm..... I own the Core Rulebook, and the Bestiary. I have found some useful stuff in the Core Rulebook. Mostly, Setting-related ideas.
Via a link I followed, in the thread over on EN World about the upcoming Playtest and Kickstarter; Rob H. felt the need to justify working with J. Tweet on the upcoming 2nd Edition Core Rulebook. Rob H. claims he couldn't write the 2E Core Rulebook, without J. Tweet; because the 1st Edition Core Rulebook, was the result of a collaboration between the two of them. Rob H. felt the need to apologize for allowing Tweet to continue to work in the RPG industry; after an earlier attempt by some, to cancel him.
Rob H. was trying to appease the outrage brigade. Please don't be mad at me, for working with a canceled person. Please don't cancel me too.
Convereted Age of Worms to 13th age and it was quite enjoyable. Stole many of the more storytale systems for my PF/5E games.
Will wait and see what happens.

Jam,
Why was Tweet canceled? I must have missed it.
I'd like to know more too. I've been off Twitter for years (no great loss), so I didn't even know Jonathan Tweet was cancelled (but he seemed like a decent guy).

Pundit did a video on it.

What is wrong with just answering the question? (Some of us are readers, not video consumers.)
Jonathan Tweet tweeted a tweet that was deemed racist. Because a white guy with a black wife is obviously racist.
https://i.imgur.com/0PYc9o1.jpg (https://i.imgur.com/0PYc9o1.jpg) <- that should be link to the tweet.
He basically said race science is on the rise because science that doesn't take race into account doesn't answer all the questions,
but since liberals won't look at that science, it ends up only being looked at by racists.
Thanks Tod! That's absolutely insane that JT would get cancelled over something like that. I just took a quick peek at his Twitter and it's a shame he's still suffering from TDS, however.
Speaking of 13th Age, some people are boycotting it now that Jonathan is returning to work with Rob. I wonder what shenanigans Pelgrane will pull this time. Ngl, knowing they threw Jonathan under the bus previously (and how woke they've become) has made me not want to give them as much money. But they did get him back so I'll probably just get the pdf. Otherwise I couldn't even be bothered at all. No original designers, no buy.

I saw that, but I'm not sure if I'm in. I did the 13th Age in Glorantha KS and the material is okay, but there hasn't been much follow-up even by Glorantha fans with the Jonstown Compendium (mostly due to rights issues).
That's true. I was very bummed that they never did a Season 3 of the organised play adventures. The initial release of 13A showed a lot of promise as an alternative to 4e/5e with long-term replayability, but after that it seemed like they were coming up with supplements that no one cared or asked for.
For whatever reason, 13th Age has always been a tough read for me. I get part way in and suddenly get fed up with....I don't know...the organization, the voice, or something else. It's a shame as I think it is probably a game I could enjoy if I got a chance to play. If they can keep JT on the project, and really tighten up the rules and organization I'd be willing to take another look.
Yes the rules themselves aren't that difficult to learn as they're built off the d20 foundation, but the organization of the book is bad. It assumes you, the reader, already know the fundamentals of 3e/4e, and thus it only glosses over them before moving on to the next subject.

The 13th Age Core Rulebook, is sort of like a PHB2 for D&D 4th Edition; with default setting information included. It assumes you're already familiar with the system. When you look at the 1st Bestiary for 13th Age, you see a resemblance to the D&D 4th Edition Monster Manuals. It's sort of like D&D 4.5 Edition.
