Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Do you play with a 'Bad' GM? Are YOU a bad gm?

Quote from: Shipyard Locked;709422Wait, is there a misunderstanding at work here? Jibbajibba offered a comparison of art styles that is similar to what is going on in the Mongoose book. I did not say it was the same art, I said the effect was the same. Is that clear Shawn?
Yes.

Boy, aren't you a treat.  Let me guess: you're one of that kind for whom running into two gay NPCs within the span of six months means The GM Has A Hidden Queer Agenda, and the presence of three within the course of a year means OMG The Queers Are Taking Over The Setting!!!

Quote from: Shipyard Locked;708505I sort of resent this one. I find this sort of cribbing a real time-saver, and even if the players recognize it they usually end up thinking, "Oh, it's that story, but how am I going to handle it now that I'm the protagonist?" which is kind of cool.
My wife and I have what we call The Game, which involves us watching our fantasy-oriented TV show de jour, and chalk-talking over our most powerful respective fantasy dropping in and piling into the plot on the side of the good guys.  These days, we do it for Once Upon A Time.

Quote from: Shawn Driscoll;709378Umm... that art is from FransMensinkArtist at DeviantArt.  Pay attention.
Hell, I have a devART account.  So do a lot of 14 year olds with their camphones.  There's nothing about a devART account that magically turns someone into a respected artist.
This was a cool site, until it became an echo chamber for whiners screeching about how the "Evul SJWs are TAKING OVAH!!!" every time any RPG book included a non-"traditional" NPC or concept, or their MAGA peeners got in a twist. You're in luck, drama queens: the Taliban is hiring.

Quote from: The Traveller;708913I've previously asked whether or not it would be a good idea to run a game set in situations where people are still dying today; most people were ambivalent. I'm not at all comfortable with the notion.
I admit this is a POV I've never quite understood.  I don't think it's one bit more (or less) disrespectful to set a scenario where people are currently dying in droves than to set a scenario where people had been dying in droves.  Vietnam, WWII, the Napoleonic era, the Thirty Years War, the Crusades, the Wars of Religion, any civil war: these all involved appalling human misery, slaughter and death.  I don't figure human suffering comes with a sell-by date.

How about engaging a couple or three brain cells.

Quote from: soltakss;709255Fluorescent arrows are good as well, especially when the players don't get the clues that I have scattered around that are so obvious that a three year old could see them.
I hear this a lot.

You post out of context a lot, and never to the point.  It's like you're reading a completely different forum and then posting your replies here for some reason.

Eh, Sparky, I respond to the posts I feel like responding to, and make the points I feel like making.  If you don't understand them or can't wrap your head around them, whatever.  I'm not your elementary school teacher.

Save your breath.  I'm convinced he's a troll just trying to see how much bigotry is "accepted without respite at the RPGSITE!", so he can go back to his other forums under his other handles and point it out.
D&D is not an "everyone gets a ribbon" game.  If you\'re stupid, your PC will die.  If you\'re an asshole, your PC will die (probably from the other PCs).  If you\'re unlucky, your PC may die.  Point?  PC\'s die.  Get over it and roll up a new one.

I am the best GM.

I am the worst GM.

Depends on who you're asking and whether they have actually played at my table or not.

I got some feedback once that was fun along these lines - "You are the best GM I have ever had, except you run modules."

It's all in the eye of the beholder.

As for others, I am a poor judge because I am a horribly unsatisfiable player.  Nobody can do it right for me, as far as I know.

I'm reasonably sure he's just a troll full stop. He doesn't seem to have any consistent position he supports, he just rolls into conversations and tries to say disruptive things which kill any constructive or useful direction the threads he craps in were going in.
I am no longer posting here or reading this forum because Pundit has regularly claimed credit for keeping this community active. I am sick of his bullshit for reasons I explain here and I don\'t want to contribute to anything he considers to be a personal success on his part.

I recommend The RPG Pub as a friendly place where RPGs can be discussed and where the guiding principles of moderation are "be kind to each other" and "no politics". It\'s pretty chill so far.
