Title: Need a Simple Symbolic Map Tool for the Players
Post by: fezmonkey on April 28, 2011, 01:13:45 AM
We're running through World's Largest Dungeon and the maps for that are enormous. I need to find a simple purely representative map tool for the players to use for mapping on the PC. Most map tools are for the actual creation of maps for the DM to use or for playing using the PC as the map, but I just want something that is more symbolic.

Right now my players are using graphing paper and having to link a ton of 8x11 pages together to form one big map. I'd like a quicker and easier map tool on the PC or MAC they can use. If you've ever played Etrian Odyssey, I'm talking about something like that. Just tools for easily drawing walls and doors and hallways and maybe a few symbols and the ability to put in notes.

Anything like that?

(1) Use Paint. Just create a new blank file and draw on it. You shouldn't need anything more specific for a player map.

(2) Use paper and pencil. Grid paper for scale or whatnot.
