Title: NASA's chainmail wheel
Post by: Krimson on July 02, 2018, 01:14:39 AM
I'm sharing this because I thought it was cool. It's a link to a wheel being developed by NASA that is basically a chainmail wheel. It could be handy in maybe Spelljammer, or more ground bound games, made by industrious dwarves or gnomes.

It is neat, but odd that they make this seem like something completely new. It just looks to be an improvement over the titanium wire mesh tires used by the Lunar rover in 1969-70.

Even neater is the on-site fix they did using, of course, duct tape.

True, though it is a pretty neat improvement.

Would be nice to trickle-down to non-inflated automobile tires. :-)
