About 3 or 4 years ago, when I ran that BANESTORM mini-campaign - one of my players found an online name generator. This generator would take your real name and convert it into what it would be if you were an Elf, Hobbit, etc...
I found that website again a year ago - now I can't remember the
web address.
Anyone know the one I'm referring to?
Whats happening is I'm trying to come up with names for the character I am playing in January in that
D&D/3.0 one-off.

A Gygaxian tradition some groups use is to spell your real name backwards or anagram it into a different name.
Thus, my LG character was named Scepter Kreel.

Hensley's seems closer to the one I remember - except when I tested it with my friend's real name - it didn't generate the elven name she used. That one seems geared to "Tolkien-esque" sounding names, whereas the website I remember was more 'generic fantasy/sword & sorcery'.
Amazing, that there can be that kind of variety to these things - isn't it?

I also tried the anagram one - got some good NPC ideas for the next Sci-Fi campaign I run. Scary thing is a couple of anagrams generated were phonetic sound-alikes to the name of annoying pundit Ann Coulter.

How 'bout an online utility that gives you a list of scrambled words -- but DOESN'T generate anagrams?
In other words, I don't want the results to be real words. Like, if I type in 'fallible wizard", I don't want to get "Labia Dwell Friz".
here's another one-
