This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

This is cool enough to warrant posting on this site. Very nice, you should consider popping it on the DM forum.

It was all posted over on the Design Mechanism forums for feedback when I was originally working on it. The ghul lord owes quite a bit to the discussion over there.

I'm sorry I missed that conversation then. Looks like a Labour of love.

Well, I do love tinkering. When I first picked up RQ6, I was looking forward to running Glorantha. Then there was the whole RQ Glorantha kerfuffle with the licence being pulled, and I found Thennla, which I was quite impressed with. The teasers for Assabia got me especially excited for that part of the Thennla setting. But then, after years of no Assabian Rites and DM silent as to any chance of ever releasing it, I started looking for alternative faux Persia settings. I was actually very suprised by the dearth of Persian and Arabian Nights material out there, and eventually decided Al Qadim was the only option worth exploring. But it's not the sort of game I'd run with a D&D ruleset, so I stuck with Mythras, picked up the Lands of Fate boxed set on eBay, plus a bunch of other Al Qadim pdfs and suddenly here we have pages of converted material.

I'm a huge fan of Thennla, I still hold out hopes of a supplement explosion. Particularly Assabia.

A lot of D&D settings do better with decent rule sets. And I think you've gone a long way in a few posts of making Al-Qadim playable using Mythras.

Assabian Rites is something we'd love to publish, but it's Jon Drake's baby, and he's a busy guy, so we simply can't promise anything. But this is great material, and glad to see it being shared here.

You ought to check out Mythras more, Pundit. I've been actively toying with using it with The Rose War.
