SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What are you supposed to do in a non-standard sandbox campaign like the Sword & Caravan campaign? Here's what I did in my own campaign:
#dnd #ttrpg #osr

LION & DRAGON: Medieval-Authentic OSR Roleplaying is available now! You only THINK you\'ve played \'medieval fantasy\' until you play L&D.

Check out my short OSR supplements series; The RPGPundit Presents!

Also available in Variant Cover form!
Also, now with the CULTS OF CHAOS cult-generation sourcebook

ARROWS OF INDRA

LORDS OF OLYMPUS

Build a sandbox, put toys in it, let kids play in it.  I never understood why people found GMing to be so hard.  Even when you suck it can be a lot of fun if you approach it with the right attitude.

>Blade Runner RPG
Terrible idea, overwhelming majority of ttrpg players can't pass Voight-Kampff test.

Yes, but it obviously helps if you have a setting book full of tools (mostly random generators) that helps you do it easily, which Sword & Caravan does.

Of course.  As someone that runs games, I am eternally grateful that there are so many that make good books for me to draw from.  I have several of your books in dead tree format and I love them.

When I finally understood that GM is putting a toy in the path of players to see what they do with it, GMing became more fun than being a player.  NPCs, monsters, events, traps, and the like are all just toys to throw in there.  I love going through a book and going "that looks cool, I wonder what Rob and Frank will do with that."  No prep is like getting something off Amazon for your cat.
