This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Keith Parkinson died back in 2005. The others are still with us.

Elmore, Easley, and Caldwell would be the go-to as they are all still alive.

Otus's style would clash heavily.

The main issue being that they would all be Very Expensive at this point. Most likely far beyond the means of TLG to pay them and still be profitable.

If I had unlimited money to indulge in nostalgia: I'd want Jeff Easley as my head artist and art director. I feel his art is a bit more dynamic than Elmore and Caldwell. I'd then search for 2 other artists that can draw in Easley's style. I'd hire the lot, and have them do all the artwork for my fantasy RPG line.

But to be honest, there are lots of fantastic artists out there, they are just all working as concept artists in the film and video game industry. The hard truth is that even with Magic money filling their coffers, Wotc cheaps out on their art, and it shows.
