Title: Mutants and Masterminds Help
Post by: Abyssal Maw on September 02, 2007, 08:22:35 PM
Before I go trolling the Official M&M boards I thought I'd ask you guys.

I'm creating a hero called Monstergirl. She has a poisonous (paralysis) bite attack.

The poison part is easy: it's a drain(dex only) +6.

The bite part is easy, it's a strike +10.

I want to set it up so that she can only use the poison part upon successfully biting someone. But it should be optional, like maybe she bites some guys and doesn't poison them.

I don't want to be abusive of the rules by allowing her two effects in a single attack. Unless that is exactly how it is supposed to work...

I guess I need to study the example of the vampire in the book because it is set up similarly.

Upon looking at both the Vampire Lord and the poisonous snake examples, it seems I should just buy them separately. When she attacks to poison, she uses the drain DC and when she attacks to damage, she uses the strike DC.

SECOND ANSWER:

"Use the linked extra".

This is actually the better option.
