This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

There's plenty of folks here, and you folks have been here for a while and gotten to know eachother, has there been a project everyone's pitched into for celeberation of this site and it's users at any point?

Maybe an rpg collaborated on by everyone by way of ideas for mechanics or settings or personal contributions of artwork and miniature designs? Maybe the collaboative rpg project could about the various events, in-jokes, references that have collected here over the years that'd fly over my head?

Then again we could all make a collage of home movies revealing the hidden danger of killer gnomes, Or maybe a collabarative powerpoint on tgeir dangers; Powerpoints are what the people really want!

Maybe print off a picture of the site and bury underground as a perishable time capsule, who knows.

I'd chip in some money if we all clubbed together to get Pundit tattooed on the gigantic ass of an E-Thot.
I'm a middle aged guy with a lot of free time, looking for similar, to form a group for regular gaming. You should be chill, non-woke, and have time on your hands.

Collaboration?? Cooperation?? On this site??

We can't even agree on what the 'R' means in OSR.

LOL! Too true!  (I like rulings which I know is 'wrong' but best conveys the spirit for me.)

The Magnum Opus is the site itself. While it is easy to see how the majority of posters are Anti-Woke fundamentalists who think that the movement is a manifestation of Socialism only and D&D 3E is bad (two things I put question marks around), any opinion is welcomed. Just be prepared to defend it :)

And of course you have reviews, shared experiences in RPGs and so on. It is fun how a "inclusive and diverse site" (meaning: for real!) like this one is labelled a "hate site" by those sporting flags.
For every idiot who denounces Ayn Rand as "intellectualism" there is an excellent DM who creates a "Bioshock" adventure.

I thought it meant "Revisionist/Revisal", cuz that what the OSR does. It revises the history of what old D&D was actually like or about.

Here's how the Magnum Opus could be created:

1. Everyone grab a rule book of your choice
2. Make a character or decide to be a GM, in which case may some NPCs or something
3. If you're a GM, post a scene and ask "What do you do?"
4. If you're a player, respond to a GM post with your desired actions
5. Resolve any disputes or inconsistencies with mortal combat
The worms crawl in and the worms crawl out
The ones that crawl in are lean and thin
The ones that crawl out are fat and stout
Your eyes fall in and your teeth fall out
Your brains come tumbling down your snout
Be merry my friends
Be merry

I think it best to start small and easy. Someone comes up with a hexmap and theme and different poster submit hex contents. Could be hexes in Normandy/frogland (or even London) or completely new lands.

The only worthwhile posts here so far are Grognard GM's idea about getting an E-broad cattlebranded as property of TheRPGsite, Rytrasmi's exchange of characters Idea, and Ruprecht's Hexmap Idea; My vote wholly goes for creating eternal proof that hosting a TTRPG gets you internet honies, by way of E-broad tattooage. Making the tattoo look like a cattle brand I think is hilarious and I've attached my drawing/Prototype!

The asterisks could be stars, the poorly drawn cattle could be some other image and maybe some revolvers and horse-shoes can be tossed in. It could be an icon that burns away and repels wokists who come near it excorist/turn-undead style, even.

Edit: Maybe attach to a sword to create the mighty Broad-Brand!

Starting small with the purpose of getting bigger sounds neat, a good & interesting hexmap today and a source/splat book tomorrow!

Maybe some minor gods or ruins named after users and the historical era's of the setting could be named after the era's the site has gone through itself.

No, no... it's "Repetition," since every OSR game is just a cookie-cutter of another.  ;D

Come now, the site should be welcoming to all. That's why I suggest we use the Buddhist symbol for good luck.

Of course that's fair use, so we couldn't trademark it...wait, I know. Let's just mirror-flip the symbol, then it's transformative and can be trademarked.

The best thing is, no-one will be able to call us bad names when our symbol is so inclusive and diverse.

Thinking more about Ry's idea, it'd be a good start to creating short stories or maybe an anthology of the different characters folks think up! Or maybe something to get the play by post scene started up again. I'm going put a character and GM scenario up later; putting this here as a reminder.

First, I don't think there's a great need to reinvent the wheel.  There's plenty of solid systems systems out there ready to be played or slightly modified for play.  The real value is adding a setting, a location, or an adventure to give GMs something to add to their game.

Second, I don't want a Ong Game to Rule Them All.  I like that there's people doing different things.  I'm working on a Golden Age of Aviation adventure RPG and GeekyBugle is working on an urban/modern fantasy.  I don't want them to be a mash-up.  I want both to be great games that bring fun to players all over.
>Blade Runner RPG
Terrible idea, overwhelming majority of ttrpg players can't pass Voight-Kampff test.
