This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Found it in my email.

This is too much: Unsubscribed

Left ENWORLD due to toxic mod action against any little form of misalignment to the direction of NU-D&D.

I only want to witness to you the great discomfort caused by the cultural behaviour of US publishers and I believe this is more important because this discomfort is a common feeling between people like me: left wing european guys.

I feel myself unable to write in ENWORLD without being prosecuted by mods and the funny thing is I'm the exact opposite of a Right sided fanboy.

You can have a look in this thread:

https://www.enworld.org/threads/how-has-d-d-changed-over-the-decades.686433/

I also would be glad if somebody can give me some selling data of D&D by book.

Still on the first page, but other than Morrus' stock jab about inclusion and diversity I haven't seen whatever the heck is objectionable in that thread; they're just discussing trends in D&D's evolving genre assumptions.

The thread is 145 pages, so maybe point to a specific thing in there that's bothering you so we have some idea what you're referring to?

In the meantime, if you like chatting about games and don't mind that people who disagree are free to speak without being banned (as long as the topic relates to gaming in the gaming section), then welcome to the RPGSite.

When it comes to the rather quick shifts in political leanings with rpgs,  becoming "right sided" is just a matter of time to stand still.  Stand still long enough, and you can be far right in just a few years.

I would agree about the 145 page thread, is there something specific about the harshness of mods around D&D you had in mind on that thread?

Agreed. I'm glancing through and not seeing anything particularly out of wack yet.
Hell Im not even seeing any of the usual goons screeching "Furry!" so far.

But it is EN so all bets are off that it doesnt go off the rails. The site seems to be in a foot race with RPGnet for how deep they can dig themselves. But just like there, you can spend any length of time on EN and not run into anything.

I lurk enworld a bit, and I guess it is all for "SENDING THE MESSAGE", but I have never seen anything close there to the crap I have seen at rpgnet.  But then again, when I posted in rpgnet in 2004 for the first time, I never saw it taking the turns it did either.

It is indeed a big thread. There are many as this. Don't have the time to look for and point you to a precise point.
My curiosity is for your opinion about the climate of enworld. Do you think is suffocating as i feel?

Thank you. I can brefly say that I don't like bigotism and restrictions of freedom of speech. The woke culture acts on language to spread ideas. This is aberrant for me.

Then you've definitely found the right place. This place is about as free speech as they come, with the only real restriction being to keep the main board here on topics related to gaming (you can even discuss politics where it intersects with gaming, but broader general political discussions belong in "The RPGPundit's Own Forum" section).

Thorn Drumheller

I've come to realize, for myself, what value internet forums bring to my life. I was on enworld back when it was still eric noah's rumor mill about 3e. That was an exciting time. Fun. But the toxicity of people has always been there.

Honestly, enworld has become irrelevant, just like TBP has become. I also remember back in the day when you'd post a thread and not an hour later it was buried 5 pages in the past. Reddit is a farce (don't get me wrong there's some subreddits I go to that the creator posts on).

This forum is the only forum I regularly read. And if I have a question about rpgs I will post it here. This forum has attracted the best, it seems to me, from old enworld and rpg.net, like SHARK and any other number.

Anyway, welcome to therpgsite.

Alot of folk feel EN is stifling and oppressive. Just not yet on the blatant levels of RPGnet or as covert as BGG. Somewhere in between at the moment.

Notice that the Left never mention "far left."

Yes. The tone is a bit different too. RPGNet is a sort of collective gulag where the mods act as camp guards. EN World feels more like a classroom where Morrus is a bullying teacher, and it's not really at the same level. And I'd be really surprised if any ENW mods turned out to be sex criminals the way RPGnet ones have, ENW doesn't have that Reek of Wrongness you get from RPGnet.

Haven't been to enworld for a good long time now, can't really comment on how bad things may be there.  But in general, woke moderators
have been the bane of most forums i once used (RPGnet has been insufferable for ages) and i avoid most sites like the plague.  Not just RPG forums
either, that stuff is everywhere, from the History forums i used to dwell on to the Knitting forums a ladyfriend of mine could tell you about.

That said i didn't see much in the first few pages that seemed so bad, apart for the silly bit about 'diversity' and 'inclusion'.  Like most old gamers
from the early 80's, in all my years i've never had any issues playing with anyone who wished, and have had a pretty broad spectrum of players
over the years.  And that seems to be the norm with most people i talk to about it.  Finding ANYONE to play with is often challenge enough for
many games.

I was more puzzled as to why anyone would need to buy a supplement about pets...
WotC makes me play 1st edition AD&D out of spite...

I used to be a regular participant at ENWorld but when I realized that I was purposefully dancing around issues due to a feeling of censorship / walking on eggshells, I made a conscious decision to stop visiting the site. Time and attention is your most precious commodity, and I'm not interested in giving either to a site run by Woke cultists.

Exactly this.  Same for me.
